Achte probe der Wagemut Fasssprache: ACACIA Als ich diesen rum das erste mal verkostet habe konnte ich deutlich die räucher aromen herausschmecken. Diesesmal war es irgend wie anders ich habe viel süße viel fruchtige noten,dann wird es leicht Salzig mit etwas speck am gaumen. Ein richtig guter Rum. Bin froh mir damals gleich die 0,5L Flasche gekauft zu haben.

Daring Cask Language Project (Cask Strength) It is to be expected that not the best possible rum is used for such a project. The base rum is comparatively fizzy without any particular character. 1st flight: Base rum / all Oaks It's interesting how much the differences are between individual oak types. I was particularly surprised by Mizunara. 2nd flight: base rum / special woods Insanely different, from bad to good, everything was there. Many thanks for this interesting project.

Barrel language N. 08 Acacia vs. N. 01 Base Rum. The 6 additional months in the new-make acacia (robinia) barrel have darkened the color by 9 levels. Finally a non-oak barrel. Nose: now that's different! Very intense pipe tobacco at the start. And sweetish-smoky-bacon. No longer peppery-limey at all. The fruit is more in the direction of subtle apricot. There are still citrus fruits at the end. I like pipe tobacco. 7,8 Palate: the nose continues on the palate. Again, sweetish pipe tobacco right at the front. Smoky and bacony, which the base doesn't have. Liquorice, nutmeg and a little caraway round it off, it seems much rounder and more mature, especially the tobacco is added. I like it very much 7.8

Daring cask language, the same base rum aged 16 times in barrels made from different woods. Very interesting project (thanks to Flo for sharing). Well, very interesting, spicy profile that appeals to me more than the previous oak barrels. Unfortunately, I can't define it...

Absolutely great project. I only learned about it through the Rum X action. Lots of fun to explore. The YT videos are also super informative. Good choice of base product, good alcohol integration. American: classic 6.3 German: spicy-woody 6.6 French: velvety-oily 7.3 Kiri: surprise 7.4 Mizunara: good complexity 7 Walnut: little influence 6 Chestnut: not so distinctive 6 Mulberry: iodine/smoky 6.2 Cherry: dense 6.8 Pear: normal 6 Ash: orange 6.1 Tokaji: sawdust Caucasian: woody, fruity, fresh 6.4 Carpatian: European Bourbon 7.4 Acacia: multilayered 7 A slightly longer maturation would have been even better to bring out the nuances more. But you have to manage that first. Overall, there are already remarkable differences in how it has developed. Hats off for the project, very fun and interesting.

Das Acacia-Finish verleiht dem Rum eine feinblumige Eleganz, sanfte Süße und eine beeindruckende seidenweiche Textur. Die floralen und honigsüßen Aromen machen ihn besonders charmant - raffiniert, fast fragil, und doch aromatisch präsent. Eine wunderbare Variante für alle, die auf ein blumiges, leichtes, aber dennoch komplexes Fass-Finish setzen.
