Wagemut Fasssprache: Carpathian Oak Rum N. 05 2023

Part of the Wagemut Fasssprache project — the same Trinidad base rum aged an extra six months in different woods, this one in new-make Carpathian oak. Members find it spicy, earthy and dry: nutmeg, lime peel, green apple and a woody, peppery backbone, with a touch of caramel and vanilla the base lacks. At 62.2% the alcohol stays sharp. Most agree the cask adds character but not a huge amount.

The community says
  • Dry woody spice
  • But: Sharp at 62%
  • But: Modest cask impact

The look inside the bottle

How does Wagemut Fasssprache: Carpathian Oak Rum N. 05 2023 taste?

Aggregated from 10 community reviews.

Spicy, dry cask-strength oak experiment A fun exploration bottle more than a knockout pour. Several tasters say the extra oak rounds it slightly but doesn't transform a fairly spirit-forward, unremarkable base rum.

Perfect for

wood geeks curious about single-oak maturation

Fasssprache N. 05 Carpathian-Oak vs. N. 01 Basis Rum.

Insgesamt ähnlich zu No. 4 Gernan Oak. Alkohol bleibt recht scharf.

Insgesamt wenig Fasseinfluss, fast wie der Basisrum.
