Vagabond Spirits Bielle Off-Road Rhum Series #03.1
Salt — and a lot of it. This is Bielle white aged 10 months in casks dropped 20 meters underwater off Marie-Galante, and the sea got in. Tasters get orange, sugarcane, a little chocolate, even "salted licorice, almost umami," but the salinity dominates hard. One reviewer called it a "Spalterrum" — splits the room. Wild experiment, not an everyday pour.
- Orange and cane
- Truly unusual
- Real Bielle markers

How does Vagabond Spirits Bielle Off-Road Rhum Series #03.1 taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Aggressively salty underwater-aged cane experiment Polarizing in the extreme. A few find it gourmand and unlike anything else; more feel the seawater salt overwhelms everything and the young rum has little else to offer.

Salé salé salé ensuite la canne.

An explosive rum. There's no comparison, and the tasting is unsettlingly pleasurable. There's greediness, roundness and the markers of bielle.

Two drums plunged into the open sea at a depth of 20 meters... it could have been a good test. But in my opinion, it's a complete failure here, and it's really disgusting. In my opinion, the salinity provided by the seawater is too present and distracting, and the rum is too young and has only taken on the salt, or almost all of it. Nothing else, no length in the mouth, in short a big disappointment... and what an affront to Bielle!
