Blind tasting: the nose reveals this rum to be a lighter, sweeter candidate, which in all probability should come from a column still. Caramel, vanilla, toffee and a little oak. The alcohol is then noticeable on the palate - very powerful at around 60%. After a standing time of just under an hour, the unpleasant alcoholic sharpness disappeared. I suspect an age of about 10 years, perhaps a little younger. The impression from the nose regarding the column still idea is confirmed by the palate - the sweetness is also present.
