Hamilton Saint Lucia Pot Still 2004
Nail varnish and sharp acetone hit first, then vanilla, cinnamon and heavy oak roll in — one taster even compared it to a Jamaican Clarendon. The palate runs dry and woody, "like a wet piece of wood at the forest floor," not sweet at all. Surprisingly mild for 65.5%, with the alcohol well tucked in, though a couple of members found it faded fast without much to develop.

How does Hamilton Saint Lucia Pot Still 2004 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Dry, woody St. Lucia pot still at full proof The handful of reviews lean warm — well-integrated heat and real St. Lucia character — but a few note it stays a bit plain and fades quickly rather than building to anything big.

June 2022. Hale Pele. really harsh nose, acetone, vanilla, some grape and pear on the nose - vanilla, cinnamon, heavy oak, - really sharp finish on the tongue - super strong flavor and very much that unique st lucia. Love the flavor overall

I got a sample for this one. The nose resembles the Hamilton 9-year with lots of caramel or toffee notes. The taste is more floral than the 9 years with more vanilla coming. The aftertaste is vanilla and caramel forward. Truly amazing. However, I think I prefer the 9-year-old version has a bit more flavor than this one, but not by much. I tasted both on the same round so I was able to compare them both right there, but I will gladly drink both of these any day.

🇱🇨 wow this 2004 is almost like a 🇯🇲 clarendon !!!
Review by Casper Nielsen
Nose: Sugarcane, spices and sweet licorice. Taste: Typical St. Lucia. Appropriately agricole-ish, but a little plain. Surprisingly mild considering the almost 65%. Nothing wow. But fades out quickly and doesn't really manage to develop into anything spectacular. But all-in-all solid craftsmanship.
Review by Natascha og Aske
This is a stringent rum with a sweet, fruity nose although a bit alcoholic as well. The palate is not sweet at all but rather woody almost like a wet piece of wood at the forest floor with a hint of nail varnish. We tried to add the tiniest bit of agave syrup and it actually opened up the rum. Good but not quite “up there”
