Sip it neat and slow — this is a tasting rum, not a mixer. The nose is the star: floral, scented-geranium, citrus peel and marmalade with a touch of raisin and candied sugar. The palate turns to oak, caramel and dried fruit over that dry agricole spine, and at 18 years it still reads fresh and grassy. A long, crackling finish, but several tasters wanted more depth than 18 years gave them.

Most helpful positive review
Ripe and complex Neisson bouquet. Typical for 2005 with citrus and tropical fruit. On the palate it is quite spicy and not overpowering like the 15-year-old. Long, crisp finish. As expected, a great rum. However, the 12-year-old is at least as good and yet a lot cheaper.

Considering the price and the specs, quite a disappointment. Relatively heavy and caramel-like, but also somewhat one-dimensional with a rather short, unspectacular finish. There are many, many much better rums for a fraction of the money.

A very good Agricole of the fine, elegant kind... but I have to say, I've had better ones in my glass. I miss the complexity and the unique selling point, which I would expect at this price

Well, I'm not the biggest Agricole fan, as you know, and I always find it a bit difficult. In my opinion, it's not bad, but definitely not worth the price for me. As a layman, it's relatively interchangeable.

I had hoped for something more from 18 years. Floral nose with pelargonium (scented geranium), citrus (fruit, peel, marmalade) as well as sugar and some raisin and candied. On the palate then oak with some caramel + raisin otherwise just citrus again with agricole notes. I liked the nose, but the palate lacks some substance. It's just too fresh and agricole-y for me. Overall rather uninteresting for me.

Pre-launch sample directly from Luca ;) Perfectly integrated full taste of Neisson. Unfortunately it does not suit my taste. (I do not rate samples that I tasted before official release)

A beautiful version of the 2005 vintage from Neisson. Only 207 bottles Second bottle tasted: the taste of burnt sugar or cask bottom? A bit too present. Strange So I lower my rating a bit

Tasted at Velier Live 2024, what a massive piece of Rum. Unfortunately they know that and put a price on that. The aging really got a kind of demerara aged heaviness into it. Really a lovely piece that should be tried!
