RumX/Kirsch online tasting Rest&Be Thankful! 24 years old, Mark MMW and thus a Wedderburn, Medium Pot, although the ester content of 224 gr/hlpa is more in the direction of EMB. Nose: fruity-spicy with some wood and esters shining through. Citrus fruits in the direction of bergamot, the typical honey note and a resinous freshness somehow do not reveal the old age. In terms of fruit, I still find gooseberry and blackcurrant. A little graphite or tool oil comes out at the back. Very nice, 8.6. Palate: an intensely sweet and spicy attack with honey, licorice and aniseed. Briefly comes some graphite or pencil lead with another aniseed tip before a mix of tonka bean and apricot with some banana takes over. Very pleasant mouthfeel, but I hardly notice any esters. 8.6

#4604 07.02.2024 online tasting with Rest & Be Thankful. Nose Faint roasted wood, fruity, floral, light mint. Palate Oily, light wood, fruits, well rounded, floral, light marzipan. Finish Medium long, light roasted wood, fruits, light mint. Very slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some chocolate, vanilla and light caramel.

Fresh aromas of ripe tropical fruit, barrel influences, dark spices, pleasant residual sweetness with subtle hints of marzipan. Very tasty, harmonious overall impression. Convincing, even the somewhat reduced strength works excellently here.

Very good rum! I like the high degree of balanced complexity and roundness that these bottlings of Monymusk and Long Pond bring to the table. Lots of butter, chocolate, roasted aromas, fruit in the mid-range at most, all perfectly complemented by wood and spices.

A full medicine cabinet on the nose, the fruit really needs air and time to develop. Here, too, the nose remains rather restrained overall. Extremely oily on the palate, hardly any sweetness, but very aromatic in its surprising dryness. Dried fruit meets comparatively mild & broadly diversified medicinal notes. I don't like it quite as much as the variants with more sweetness.

Tasted during the RumX masterclass. Huge thanks the guys from R&BT for presenting their range! Very nice exploration of some low(we) ester marks. While some of the noses were a little light, the long aged expressions are very interesting on the palate across the board. Very interesting! :)

Creamy, gentle nose on butterscotch and marzipan. Slight fruityness. The palate gets more sweeter, fruits are more prominent plus a well balanced wood influence. Very well balanced, good alcohol integration. Finish a bit short.

Another very bright Clarendon from Test & Be Thankful. Very versatile on the nose but only medium intensity. I have a nice overall impression emphasized by spice. The palate is very similar to the other Clarendon bottlings from R&bT, but a little more intense. The rum somehow manages the feat of being dry and creamy-sweet at the same time. Towards the finish, a medicinal/salty note comes through again. The medium-long finish is a mix of impressions from the nose and palate. Very good rum but not my favorite Clarendon profile. I prefer the older 95 and 97 vintages.

Master tasting from Rest & Be Thankful via RumX This MM has a slightly higher ester content than the other MMs tasted by R&bT. You can feel this very clearly, but in a positive sense, It is very present, with the classic MM flavors, but overall much more intense. Which makes it more pleasing for me. A very good, but not outstanding MM
