Zéro Nine Spirits T.D.L Steampunk 2 2006

For curious explorers, this 18‑year TDL-style Trinidad rum at 58% leans sweet and pastry-like: caramel, vanilla, red fruits and toffee with some oak, leather and light bitterness. A dessert‑leaning sipper, often compared to Foursquare or “Spanish style” profiles rather than classic minty TDL, and appreciated for its accessibility despite the higher strength.

How does Zéro Nine Spirits T.D.L Steampunk 2 2006 taste?

Aggregated from 37 community reviews.

Sweet, pastry TDL for relaxed sipping For curious explorers, this 18‑year TDL-style Trinidad rum at 58% leans sweet and pastry-like: caramel, vanilla, red fruits and toffee with some oak, leather and light bitterness. A dessert‑leaning sipper, often compared to Foursquare or “Spanish style” profiles rather than classic minty TDL, and appreciated for its accessibility despite the higher strength.

Perfect for

Fans of sweeter, pastry-driven rums (think Foursquare or softer Spanish-influenced profiles) who want an 18‑year Trinidad at higher strength without aggressive funk or minty TDL intensity.

Less suitable for

Drinkers seeking classic, mentholated TDL heaviness, very dry profiles, or hyper-complex cask strength rums with long, powerful finishes and no perceived sweetness.

First impression of sampling. Quite nice, but not a great runaway to the top. Alcohol well integrated and quite drinkable due to the 58%. More will follow in peace. Well, after tasting it again, I don't think it's that bad. Stick to my first impression, it tastes good.

Mkay… Is this one wrong labeled, isn’t it? Blindly I would never classify this one as a Rum from Trinidad. It’s not a bad rum, it just doesn’t fit my expectations from Trinidad… Nose: Pastries, Fruity (Strawberries?!?), cream toffee, woody, oak, roasted, leather, with a hint of vegetal notes. Palate: fruity, spicy, oak, vanilla, leather, more vegetal and floral notes. Finish: Medium long, dry almost astringend, woody, oak, leather (reminds me on old, broken leather stuff)
