Thanks to Micha for the sample 💪🏻🥃 Nose: Dark, oily texture, a lot of malt, licorice, dried fruits, dark chocolate, bitter orange, alcholic Mouth: Alcoholic this this with a mentol note, malt, licorice, wood, oak, roasted, salty, dried fruit Finish: medium long, again with an overwhelming malt note, bitter orange, mocha. The alcohol isn‘t integrated well, otherwise it could be easily near 90 points. PN: If you don‘t like the malt notes, you better skip this one 😉

Lots of heavy sweetness full of molasses and licorice, bitter-spicy notes of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted barrel influence. Overall for my taste landed a bit too much on the spicy side, plus despite the heavy sweetness the alcohol still stands out a little. A good rum that in my eyes unfortunately lacks a bit of refinement.

The first bottling from Rumbuddy. The specs are comparable to RumClub No. 36 (I have to compare again next chance). Price-performance ratio is definitely okay. Edit: I actually like it better than RC No. 36 because it is less sour on the palate, less biting and therefore rounder. Nose: nicely spicy-woody and dark-malty-roasty. At first intense, sweet, soft, slightly salty licorice. Dark chocolate surrounds dried blood orange and dried plum. A splash of fresh lemon is also there. Very tasty, classic Diamond nose. 8.4 Palate: very full-bodied, strong yet soft. At the start salty chocolate with sweet tonka bean, then a slight menthol note before some tobacco, malty licorice and very strong molasses syrup fill the mouth. Yes, the molasses is dominant in the end - sour-licorice, bitter-salty. Good, not too complicated Diamond representative. 8.4

This rum has everything that makes a good Diamond in the under 100 EUR segment. Chocolate, coffee, wood, malt, a little sweetness, a little bitterness. The finish is strong but relatively short, the alcohol is quite well integrated. I'm guessing that MDS is the marque and therefore have to compare the rum with the Diamond 2008 from Spirit of Rum (RX16020). The 1st release (!) from Rumbuddy is certainly a palatable PLV cracker. By the way: I don't like the Diamond SV 2008 from Nobilis (RX18069) tasted at the same time quite as much, it's more on the herbal side.

The first bottling of Rumbuddy, how many more will follow? Definitely a successful bottling for the debut. No overhighlight, but really more than solid for the price! Plays the full range of dark aromas, you have to like that, but it harmonizes within itself. Probably a typical representative of the younger Diamonds, but it has gained a special, dark unique feature through its barrel.

And the world tour continues, second last country :) It's like you expect from a Guyana, a predominantly roasted rum. Coffee is clearly recognizable here, but also dark chocolate, wood, vanilla, licorice and spice.

Very nice dark notes. Malty, dark chocolate, licorice, a few herbs, molasses. Nice medium-long aftertaste and very drinkable. Very good value for money. The first bottling from Rumbuddy makes me curious what else will find its way into the bottle.

Intense roasted notes. I see strong woody notes. Almost a little too woody. Lots of tannins. Along with nice cognac notes with dried plum and other dried fruits. The alcohol strength fits very well and is very well integrated.

Delicious Diamond. Nose very spicy... dark dried fruits, vanilla, molasses, licorice and bitter orange, some leather. On the palate Plum jam, licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla and some coffee. I like it.

We have a very nice fruit base here. Licorice, wood and plum take turns. I almost suspect there's even a bit of sugar involved, as it lies extremely smooth on the tongue. Very well integrated alcohol.

This is a completely different Guyana for me than the ones I've had so far. Dried fruits and malt aromas run through the nostrils, accompanied by strong spice and burnt sugar. It has an exceptionally oily texture in the mouth, extremely malty sweet, never had it like this before. Bitter chocolate and strong roasted aromas, not bad said the woodpecker! The finish shows its dark side, but unfortunately is a bit short. Overall a tasty drop, thanks Richard for the sample. 👍🏻😊

Here you get the typical dark Guyana profile with many roasted notes, coffee, chocolate, malt and licorice, but also nice dried fruit notes. The smell still shows some alcoholic sharpness, but you hardly notice it in the mouth. I really like it, although the rum loses some points due to its rather short and not very lasting finish.

Today a newcomer to test in the glass. Draws corpse threads. Nose not overly strong but good. Syrup, burnt sugar, malt, some fermented fruits. On the palate then clearly more aromas: dark chocolate, coffee, fermented fruits, a bit of menthol, very little solvent and some sweetness. However, the alcohol could be better integrated. The rum does not hide its 62.1%. The finish is long and properly dry. I like it. Price-performance ratio really good for nearly 85 EUR due to complexity.

Nice color in the glass. On the nose dark notes that only come out after some time in the glass. On the palate nice Guyana REV hints with a strong licorice note in the aftertaste. The alcohol is well integrated.
