By far the weakest rum in the series. The salty, mineral note is somewhat reminiscent of oysters, with a hint of fruit. One sample is enough here.

8:On the nose, the first impression we get are fermented, overripe tropical fruits with esters like pineapple and banana. The molasses is a bit vegetal, there are yeast residual and glue..Some almond notes nicely complement and round the rum. 7,8:On the palate, the attack is vegetal and fruity with fermented tropical fruits like banana, pineapple, papaya. There is very pleasant tasting feeling as the molasses is syrupy, nuty, earthy and herbal. After resting the rum, our tasting buds are attacked with mineral and spicy sugarcane and pastry. 7,8:The finish is long with fermented tropical fruits, flowery notes, a bit bitter molasses, nuty, there is confectionery, the sugarcane is mineral and spicy...

Unfortunately, like the Foursquare LFT white, it doesn't suit my taste at all. Fermented, overripe, salty, mineral, herbal, musty, bitter and alcoholic. Has something of raw cauliflower about it... Unfortunately very unbalanced. With the best will in the world, I don't understand this bottling, sorry.

The least attractive of the three, Mr. Seal still has some way to go to get close to the top whites

The whole Entente set had to face DomM and me, both neat and in a daiquiri. The Foursquare is very interesting, but takes some getting used to. I had a certain cauliflower, cooked kohlrabi association here. In my opinion, the Hampden is the most balanced and the typical Hampden notes are also easy to recognize unaged. The alcohol is also perfectly integrated here. The Neisson is as it should be and what you expect from it, not bad but unfortunately nothing outstanding either. The ranking has remained the same both neat and in a daiquiri. 1st Hampden 2nd Foursquare 3rd Neisson

#5386 09.06.2025 My friend brought these samples today after I got back from my long morning walk. I just had to give them a try today 😊 Nose Fresh, fruity, ester, overripe, banana, light pineapple, spice, light sugarcane. Palate Oily, fresh, fruity, overripe, citrus, banana, light floral, faint chocolate, spice, faint smoke. Finish Medium to long, faint smoke, fruits, light pineapple, spice, faint varnish. Empty glass Faint smoke, cinnamon, light chocolate, pineapple, faint caramel.

Very intense on the nose with (overripe) vegetables and sole sweetness. Very unexpected and very much not what I expected from an unaged pot still FS. On the palate there is much more sweetness and a nice creamy texture. Overripe vegetables are lingering in the background. Here I can see how this would evolve into the classic FS profile.

Notes from Whisky Live Paris 2024 - to be reviewed and expanded. Let's face it, we're taking Foursquare to a whole new level, Here it's a little light, and in a daiquiri it's quickly overtaken (even if a little celery or something like that adds an intriguing touch - perhaps to boost a soup?).

Not really a fan of this rum but of course this was more about tasting the base spirit than it was about finding a new sipping rum. The nose is heavy on solvents, ester and vegetal notes, with a bit of fruit vinegar and sweetness. On the palate the vegetal notes take over, with a noticeable fermentation note, balanced with some sweetness and hints of fruit. It’s also alcoholic in nature and not particularly pleasant. The top notes do dominate here.

No off-notes, alcohol could be a little better integrated. I was expecting more flavor.
Review by Schnubbii
No off-notes, but also pretty unspectacular for my taste. With a little water and time in the air, it becomes a little more fruity, but that's about it. I've already tried many unaged rums that I found more exciting than this one. As much as I appreciate the Foursquare ECS and Velier bottlings, unaged is somehow nothing. I don't even find the floral hints of younger matured Foursquare here. Interesting experience, but you don't really need it.

Today the Velier Triple Entente in a glass. Here the Foursquare: This bottling is a disappointment. The nose is still the best (floral/fruity) and if the palate had continued to develop like this...! But the opposite was the case. It's quite one-dimensional with a sweetish plantiness and that's it. There are even fewer aromas on the finish. Too bad
