#4886 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, vegetal, citrus, spice, olive, light herbal, sugarcane, light floral, faint smoke. Palate Oily, fresh, round, vegetal, olive, faint salt, faint smoke, citrus, faint grass, sugarcane, faint tar. Finish Medium long, fresh, oily, vegetal, olive, light salt, citrus, light herbal. Not a bad rum either and the price is usually pretty good at release.

Ein leckerer Sajous, dessen Aromaprofil vielleicht ein wenig zu eintönig sein mag, der in seiner Balance zwischen natürlicher Süße, Fruchtigkeit und grasig pflanzlichen Kräuternoten jedoch wirklich gelungen ist. Insbesondere der Geruch, welcher mich an vergorene Himbeeren und süß-sauer eingelegte Maiskölbchen erinnert, macht Spaß.

On-line degustation of Clairin by Rum explorer 9.12.2024 velice zajimavé na nose.. signifikatní a zapamatovatelné.. na chuti spousta trávy, bylinek a koření. V chuti je to velmi velmi “pure” což je ale přesně to, co člověk od clarinu čeká.

Nose: Fresh, pungent. Lot of green grass, olives, tomato, vegetables, coriander. Then, you can feel a sugarcane juice, grape & kiwi. Hint of solvents. Palate: Fresh, sour, little bit sweet & salty. Oily texture. Fresh grass, olives, vegetables, green peppers, coriander & herbals. Some fruits, like kiwi. Very rich taste. Aftertaste: long. Still lot of grass, fresh olives, salty & herbals. Conclusion: amazing ! Highly recommend to try it. Maybe different vintage, but overall must try.

I usually really like Veliers but this wasn’t my favorite. It’s a really interesting rum but it lacks that deeper complexity of other rums. It’s got one or two notes but those notes are really interesting.

Very fun to try this along with the aged version. I enjoy this but it knocks your socks off when you age it. It is a wild rum and I love it. Aging does take the edges off but sometimes you want to go wild!

3/7/26 Was highly recommended by many people. I bought a bottle on special. Nose: first pour out of the bottle. Olives and wet, damp hay/grass, faint citrus zest underneath. It’s very fresh, to the point where it’s almost sickening in a way? Letting it rest, I get more vegetal and floral notes, with some faint crushed pepper, the freshness is much more mellowed and doesn’t overpower. More balanced and rounded. Palate: vegetal, apple, faint saltiness, citrus zest, peppery, a really strong dried date, like a Medjool? It’s so rounded, absolutely not like the nose. Finish: dry, oily, fresh, faint vegetal/herb? Thoughts: I’ll admit, I don’t like Olives, and I’ve only had 1 agricole/sugar cane spirit before, and it wasn’t for me. But this is an amazing agricole. The nose at first pour was overwhelming, but once rested I think it’s perfect. The palate is delightful, I can see why the Clairin’s are so highly praised. Give it a try.

Wonderful masterclass with Daniele Biondi. It was great to try to whole range. The story of Clairin and Haiti 🇭🇹 is absolutely amazing. It is a privilege to be able to try such a pure product at home.
