This rum is very, very sweet. It almost goes in the direction of the whole A. H. Riise. But I still like it to some extent. As I said, relatively sweet, to me it tastes of caramel and chocolate. Okay.

A nice attempt and among the sweetened or flavored rums, not the worst with lots of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and wood, but also light citrus fruits. However, for a true rum drinker, this is really nothing.

Nice smell of chocolate on the nose. In the mouth then also a chocolate aroma with the sharpness of 44% and in the finish I taste ginger. However, it is also quite sweet and rather appeals to beginners.

A mega vanilla bomb. I don't find it artificial now. For a 15-year-old very honest and a bit too cheap. Too bad no one can name the distillery. Definitely worth trying.

Initially very tasty. However, with more time it somehow became unpleasant to me. The sweetness feels artificial. I don't taste the 15 years. Ideal for beginners. Because of that sweetness. It was my first and also last bottle.

I have a special relationship with Traspers, so pour yourself a glass already, a rum collection takes longer. The rating: The nose is pleasantly vanilla. The rum tastes like sweet vanilla and sharp alcohol. Great for spiced rum lovers. Not really my thing (anymore). The story: Traspers got me into rum. In a rum bar, the owner asked me what rum I like to drink. To not sound dumb and say Bacardi, Captain Morgan or Havana Club, I said Botucal (I had tried it once at my father-in-law's, but couldn't remember). So the man gave me a glass of Traspers. When I first drank it, it was by far the best rum in the world. I had to have it. I'm interested in rum and thanks to N. Kröger I soon expanded my one-bottle collection with Pampero Anniversario. That was something completely different. I wondered how different rum could taste... Suddenly I had Mount Gay, Appleton, Botucal, Planteray and Saint James with me. I realized sweet is nice too, but I like the real unadulterated rums better. Meanwhile, my rum collection has grown to 15 bottles. I have the RumX app and organize small tastings with friends. Traspers was the first and I still like to drink it even though it's no longer my favorite. It was, so to speak, my key into the rum world. Therefore, I am grateful to it and rate it accordingly positively.

At first sip rather disappointing, typical “rum smell” with... well with what exactly? A bit too little of everything! On the next sip it becomes clearer. It stimulates my saliva flow just like my favorite Madeira. And when my wife then smelled citrus fruits, I could place the flavor profile for myself: dark chocolate with orange peel. Two hours later my mouth is still watering. If only it had a bit more power overall... downgraded because in comparison tests it somehow seems artificial.

A good rum that's sweet but not too much, though it's not a highlight either, doesn't stand out anywhere and goes down well. Overall, everything is fine, but for the price, there are definitely better ones with their own profile and more body.

The Traspers was one of the first rums I bought for pure enjoyment. I found the bottle at Globus for just under €40 before I discovered RumX. So it was a blind buy. The first impression was quite positive. However, the more bottles I try and the bigger my collection gets, the worse the rum becomes for me. As a sweet dessert rum, the Traspers isn't bad, but for me, something like Botucal does it better. The information on the bottle also leaves a bitter aftertaste. The 15 years age statement is very unbelievable. By now, I would also suspect that artificial flavors and more than 20g of sugar were added. The bottle is now empty, and I wouldn't buy it again. There are clearly better alternatives in this price range.

Very sweet, lots of vanilla and some white chocolate and young wood. Unfortunately, I don't get many more impressions from this rum. And although it is not particularly strong at 44%, the alcohol is even a bit more present than I expected. If I had more than the sample bottle, the rest would surely only be used as a mixer.
