Two opposite rums pulled together: a bright, minty Trinidad (TDL) leading with peach and fresh menthol, tied to a darker Nicaraguan half bringing cocoa, roasted almonds and a little tobacco. The TDL clearly runs the show — several tasters wished it had a bigger share. At 63.6% it drinks well for the proof, though the alcohol still nips.

Very interesting blend of T.D.L. and a rum from Nicaragua. I don't think I've ever had a glass of the latter. The great profile of the T.D.L. stands out clearly, repeatedly interrupted by citrus notes. The alcohol is not well integrated, despite standing for 2 hours, a certain bitterness remains. I think the T.D.L. would be better here on its own. Maybe not the Nicaragua rum =D

Nice drinkable blend. Fruity menthol notes from the TDL in the beginning and the end. Some Nicaraguan tobacco and smoothness. Quite accessible for being 63,6% but the alcohol gives a bitterness as well.

My little stand favorite at the Brussels Rhum Festival. A TDL/Nicaragua blend that works superbly, much appreciated. Fruity nose, peach / cocoa pastry Mouth: silky, fruit, cherry, blackcurrant, peach / cocoa, roasted, burnt sugar Round finish with a hint of menthol! A blend of 2 opposing but complementary rums, fruit & cocoa.

15/03/25: tasted @ Brussels Rhum Festival. Another successful blend from Famille Ricci. It's clear that they're specialized in blending. You get a nice fresh, minty profile from the TDL, accompagnied by some Nicaraguan influence. Although, I think a ratio of around 75-25% would've worked better. 10/04/25: retasted @ Famille Ricci tasting in TasTToe. Score remains unchanged.

Brussels Rhum Festival 15/03/2025 Great strong TDL profile balanced with some Nicaragua. Again a successful blend from Ricci. Road Rummers S8 T5 Ricci tasting Tasting this again and this is a beauty. It is as discribed 50/50 TDL Niceragua.

♒ Aquarius 2024 – 63.6% Blend of 50% TDL 2008 and 50% Nicaragua 2004. The fruity and minty notes of the TDL clearly dominate this blend, and the whole works very well. Personally, I find the TDL a bit powerful, which benefited from a wiser partner — and the choice of Nicaragua is consistent! That's the whole point of the art of blending...

On the nose, it's a peach coated with a nice thickness of dark chocolate. Also a fresh side with a touch of mint. A bit of coconut too. On the palate, the peach is more present. Still chocolate, mint. A burnt sugar note appears. The alcohol sting is quite present. It gives the impression of traveling from one destination to another, without really any unity. Woody and dry finish. An interesting blend.

Not usually a fan of Zodiac and Ricci in general, I’m trying a sample sent by a buddy. The nose is a gourmand brioche without excess, then some vegetal notes timidly appear. On the palate, a beautiful combination of Nicaraguan chocolate (in my opinion, an origin too often neglected) and the amaretto cherry fruits of the TDL. Finally, you find roasted chocolate in the finish. Nice product.

TDL heavy with peach, dark fruit and mint, with chocolate, oak and mild bitterness. Makes it feel a little older than it is. It works quite well, though I prefer my TDL untempered.
