A nice Agricole. Expectations are naturally quite high with these old drops. In the end, unfortunately, it can’t quite meet them. Still, I’m very glad to have tried it. Many thanks for the opportunity Armin.

8,2:On the nose, typical agricole with juicy sugarcane, flowery, grassy, dried fruits, roasted wood notes like caramel, chocolate, perhaps cocoa, leather, spicy vanilla, sweet, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, strong vegetal aspect of sugarcane is out, with cereal, red bell peppers, parsley, slightly musty, peppery and citrus fruits join. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, typical agricole with sugarcane juice, musty, flowery, again quite vegetal, mineral, peppery, dry with dried fruits, marmelade like with cherry and strawberry, slightly metallic and the oak is roasted with nuts, caramel and chocolate. 7,5:The finish is rather disappointing towards nose, medium long, metallic, less fruity with dried fruits, the cane is flowery, musty, the oak roasted with dark chocolate, coffee..

Expectations were high again for such an old drop. But since I'm not necessarily an Agricole fanboy, it really didn't appeal to me; it's good, but unfortunately not a real highlight for me. Great to have been able to try it.

Exciting old Martinique rum with clear Agricole character. Planty-woody, with a slight sweetness reminiscent of citrus fruits. Maybe a bit thin for its 47%, but still very decent for me!

The nose promises more than it can deliver on the palate. Somewhat flat, spicy, I expected more complexity.

Not a bad Agricole per se, but unfortunately terribly thin in body. Also not much flavor: a few vegetal notes, sweetness from barrel aging. Unfortunately, the alcohol is not particularly well integrated either.
