Expect a wall of pepper before you expect rum. Samai infuses red Kampot peppercorns during the second distillation, so the nose and palate are all green peppercorn, black pepper and honey. 8.4.2025 Casa Havana Prague Smells quite fresh, you can smell meadow honey and spices, some herbs. Color like tea. Taste is fabulous - dense, slightly honeyed, tingles on the tongue after swallowing and you can smell that special Cambodian pepper for a very long time.

No. 7 from the 24 days of Rum black edition Advent calendar. Not much to say. A bit of honey on the nose, but mostly you can detect pepper. On the palate also a lot of pepper, but it's a tad too sweet.

Interesting rum with a distinct Kampot pepper flavor. The base rum is distilled twice and, during the second distillation, red Kampot pepper is added to the spirit helmet. Unfortunately, the enormous sweetness overwhelms experienced rum drinkers. This is reflected in the rating. The rum is refined with honey, which explains the sweetness. Nevertheless, it is a great product that works wonderfully in Old Fashioned cocktails. A bestseller from the distillery, which sells very well in duty-free shops. Kampot pepper is well known worldwide, making it a good souvenir for tourists.

Pepper clearly dominates the aroma, but it is nothing exaggerated, rather the opposite. Very nice. On the palate there is also the right amount of pepperiness, but for me it is killed by too much sweetness. Quite long and distinct peppery finish. A pity, otherwise I would have considered it a nice effort.

Now the Samai Rum. Doesn't appeal to me at all. On one hand very peppery and on the other very sweet and tastes mega like honey. Of course an interesting contrast. But overall it doesn't appeal to me.

Very awesome Kampot pepper spiced rum with honey! Full blast of pepper in all colors and intensities, very fruity, not too spicy and very balanced. Really like it and sure makes great drinks!

Very nice sample of the 24 days of rum, and surprising as well. It is very fruity, full of currants, 🍋, 🍊, and as expected peppery but balanced with sweetness. It also has a bittery side to it, where orange and lemon peels come to the front but overall a great sample with only 1 problematic area. Aftertaste which is too short.

No, this won't be my favorite rum. You either love it or hate it. I must belong to the second group, although I absolutely love pepper in food. But this is too sweet for me and moreover, the pepperiness in this version just doesn't go with rum. :-(

Very good pepper-flavored rum, best pepper in the world by the way. You don't really taste the quality of the rum itself, but the pepper that infused it. Leaves a pleasant and very long aftertaste in the mouth, slightly sweet to my taste.

Pepper, you dont say. Number 7 on my 24 days of Rum calendar. Lots of green peppercorn on the nose here. I mean a lot. Then you get some paint thinner. A little off caramel in there. Doesn't come together very pleasantly. Golden pour. Vegetable pepper vibe cloys for a while, really sticks with you.
