Barrel and toasted oak lead here, with dried plum, caramel and a bit of dark chocolate on the nose. That nose is the best part — several members loved it. The palate then thins out: wood, caramel and a touch of bitterness, and at 40% the alcohol can poke through. A wood-driven Aussie 12-year that promises more on the nose than it delivers in the mouth.

Advent calendar Australia The Dunderhut door 2. So I really liked the nose here, very woody/oaky, but also nutty and smoky. On the palate, then disappointment. Some wood remains, but otherwise quite thin and bitter.

Australia Advent Calendar 2025 (2). An herbal and fermented nose with cedarwood support. Overripe yellow fruits, an expressive but too soft nose. A soft, honeyed entry on the palate with overripe yellow fruits. Less expressive than on the nose. Too simple but quite pleasant to sip. A rather short finish with cedarwood and sweetness lingering longer.

The nose flatters you with floral wood scents, dark berries, plums, and vanilla. Very pleasant. On the palate, the alcohol comes through strongly, and the previously mentioned aromas barely show anymore. Tastes like the distillate has sucked the last wood aromas out of an old, worn-out sherry cask over the years. Very bitter, somehow grassy, woody, and sharp-edged. Reminds me faintly of an old Clement Rhum that Wolfgang Klotz shared. Age: 8 years Cask: old sherry cask

Artur's Australian Advent Calendar #2: Nose is wonderful. You can smell the barrel aging with dried fruits, especially prunes, caramel, wood, nuts, and cappuccino. On the palate, it's a bit thin. The complexity is gone and only wood, caramel, and dried fruits are present. Finish is similar and short.

Dunderhuts Christmas Calendar Australia Nase: Sehr fruchtig, bilde mir ne Kirsche ein, aber auch Karamell und Holz, insgesamt sehr süß Mund: dünn, bisschen Frucht, Williamsbirne? Sehr simpel das Ganze, hoffentlich nicht so teuer.

Australia Advent Calendar day 2 A wood driven rum. The nose is limited to barrel and toasted notes that i'll find also when it comes to the palate, where I can find only a few more notes, liquorice and caramel, and the roasted notes that are here.
