One taster used it to introduce a friend to agricole — and that's the right frame here. All the markers land: fresh cane juice, cut hay, green herbs, an olive-briny edge and a faint mint that surfaces on the palate. At 70% it burns as you'd expect, then turns oily and warm with a very long, spicy finish. A few drops of water make it easier to read.

#5497 19.07.2025 Tasting at the Nordlichter Treffen. Nose Medium intense, floral, green, olive, vegetal, sugarcane. Palate Oily, warm, spicy, light floral, sugarcane, olive, faint mint, vegetal. Finish Very long and warm, spicy, oily, floral, light mint, light sugarcane.

Had high expectations for this rum given the average rating, but had to realize that it is probably not the holy grail of unaged Agricoles. Certainly not a bad rum, but just mediocre with the classic markers.

A very strong agricole rhum. A perfect representation of the kind, I just used it to make someone discover the genre, it has all the markers: vegetal, cane juice, hay. It lingers long enough. I'd definitely have a bottle on the bar.

This one delivers. Nose is olivey with lots of small stuff underneath. Taste burns as expected, but oily minty flavour surfaces along with other greenies.
