Anyone drawn to a light, polished Cuban sipper — with the wallet for a trophy bottle — is the real audience here. Column-distilled at 40%, it leans chocolatey and mild: dark chocolate, vanilla, a little dried fruit and nuts, all nicely balanced. The problem is what happens next. Several tasters note it arrives elegant, then fades fast, and the strong caramel reads sweetened rather than aged.

Though this is a costly glass it's well worth the money and you should try it at least once in your life. This bottling is released in a limited number every year so there is always a chance to taste it. A perfectly balanced and complex rum from Havana Club.

for over 1000€ 0.5 liters of rum and then not even a proper age statement is a cheek. the thing is just a prestige object nothing more, the only thing that costs money here is the valuable bottle design. taste but not much better than pampero anniversario, millonario XO etc... for the money you could easily buy 15 single casks... pity! very pity!

Impressive packaging. Unfortunately, the rum contained disappoints. Very balanced and mild, but also quite characterless.

Ok, here I’m pleasantly surprised. As a low proof column rum, this is very intense and complex. For that I rate this as very good. Obviously, the price is in no way ok for what you get. Interesting to see this as an Havanna Club bottling nevertheless.

Since I have a bottle, I've been able to taste it several times. On the nose, it's nicely balanced. On the palate, there's a slight sweetness with fruits, dark chocolate, and some nuts. As nice as it comes, it also disappears quickly.

11.04.2026 Franconian Tasting Gang meeting at Rumurmel. Well, since I didn't know the price of the bottle when tasting, I would have rated it as relatively solid and appropriate for the ABV. For me, purely a collector's item to show off with a 250kg heavy bottle. Nice but absolutely overpriced.

Thin profile. Strong caramel note suggests that it was tampered with. 2,000€ for 0.5L without an age statement is outrageous.
