One of my first unsweetened rums. And at the same time the first bottle I won at an auction. Simple entry into unsweetened Spanish styles without much steam and complexity. But it does exactly what you'd expect and at a great price.

This is a really nice rum from CDI blended from Venezuelan and Nicaraguan rum (60% Venezuela and 40% Nicaragua). A wonderful herbal and spice nose once rested going into a silky light palate with a nice but short finish. This is an easy to drink rum without all the whistles and bells of a high proof or super complex taste. The price tag is very good compared to the quality.

Unpretentious rum and very good value for money. Goes down easily. Strong dominance of vanilla and caramel. Finish of leather and blond tobacco. Very good.

Color: Amber. Smell: Sweet and fresh, dominated by caramel, fudge and toffee aromas. But also fruity (pear) and nutty. Taste: Sweet and full-bodied with lots of toffee at the start, then coffee aromas dominate. Slightly spicy peppery with licorice. Also some tobacco and leather. Finish: Short to medium length, dry, dominated by tobacco and leather aromas. Woody and slightly bitter in the finish. Conclusion: Certainly no highlight, but a pleasant rum that drinks well.
