This Longueteau Agricole from the Esperance distillery in Guadeloupe was in slot #19 in my 2025 advent calendar. It’s is a leap year rum and this edition is distilled February 29th 2020 and bottled in just 642 bottles February 29th 2024. The edition is produced from red cane that’s aged in former Genesis Ambré barrels. The nose is round, fruity and spicy with scents of mango, apple, vanilla, honey and tobacco. At the palate it’s complex, full bodied, round, fruity, sweet and woody with flavors of red fruits, grapefruit and orange zest. The finish is rather long with the flavors persisting together with notes of chocolate.

Young, rather grassy agricole with light hazelnut notes. Good, but not quite my thing.

Nose: intense vanilla, honey, stewed mango and apple. Mouth, cool attack ms astringent, young and cute wood, nice presence of white almond that I didn't have on the nose (I like it a lot) The apple becomes a quince, and white grapefruit arrives. Light herbaceous spices (almost verbena). Rather short length
