Chamarel Extra Rare (15th Anniversary) 2008
Hazelnut and dried apricot lead here, sitting on a dry, woody base with raisin, orange and a good pull of tannin. It's cane-juice rum but reads more like an aged, unsweetened Spaniard — dark fruit and nuts rather than grassy agricole. One taster called it nutty right through to the finish. At 45% it's surprisingly intense; give it a few minutes to open and the vanilla and cocoa come forward.

How does Chamarel Extra Rare (15th Anniversary) 2008 taste?
Aggregated from 15 community reviews.
Dry, nutty aged cane-juice sipper A well-liked, mature sipper — most call it beautifully balanced and nutty, a step above typical Chamarel. The recurring grumble is that it's simply very expensive.

Angenehmer Kollege. In der Nase rosinig Fruchtig. Am Gaumen dann eine Fülle von Vanille. Gefällt mir ganz gut und relativ schöner Abgang. Sehr sanft. Etwas atmen lassen ist ratsam. Eine laue Sommernacht.

Für die 45% recht intensiv. Es dominieren vor allem nussige Noten.
Review by Leo Krüper
Sehr holzig und trocken. Hätte mich eher an ungezuckerte Spanier (Venezuela) erinnert. Im Abgang fast schon nussig. Schöner Rum, aber viel zu teuer.
