Magnificent on the nose, magnificent on the palate, in the end all that was missing was a slightly more successful finish to take it a step further. But if you like notes of coffee, chocolate and wood, go for it!

Really heavy nose with dark fruit - cherry in particular stands out. Toasty, slightly bitter, yet fruity. Great mouthfeel with a pleasant, natural sweetness. I really like it!

Full round nose. Woody and spicy with dark dried fruits. Prune and dried orange peel. Leather and vanilla and chocolate are beautifully woven in. Something fresh and tart like currant comes in. Deliciously spicy and woody again on the palate. Licorice at first, then some date and prune. Salty and slightly bitter it seems. Something sweet towards caramel is caught up by something spicy, peppery. It remains slightly bitter in the finish. At the back then comes licorice, the grassy sugar cane and even some mint. The age and ABV suit him well.
