Nice and classic Fidji nose. Delivering all you would want around plastic, dirt, some vetegal and fruity notes. Similar picture on the palate, yet less fruity with more sweetness than expected. Texture is very nice and creamy. Good stuff, only complexity on the palate could be a bit higher.

Pleasant Fiji with the typical notes of ester and plastic, but the whole thing is not brute. Alcohol is well integrated, unfortunately the finish is a little short. All in all, a good representative of the Fiji profile, but not an outstanding one either. The PLV of the Fiji from TRC, which is still available, is better.

8,8:On the nose, esters and glue are the first thing we notice, with sweet tropical fruits like unripe banana, pineapple and roasted wood notes like caramel, toffee, spicy with vanilla, baking spices. On aeration, citrus and yellow fruits are out, vegetal, grassy tones and confectionery with pastry, biscuits.Very balanced... 8,8:On the palate, the attack is tasty, sweet with honey, pastry, marzipan and unripe banana, later pineapple and papaya, the wood is roasted with caramel, nuts like almonds, spicy with vanilla, pepper, there are light esters, glue and, when rested, some plastic notes...funky, creamy, buttery. Certainly we notice flowery touch, but when the rum is well oxidized. 8,6:The finish is rather short, dry, with light esters, roasted wood notes, salty, smoky, hints of crunchy confectionery are here, fruity and vegetal(olive, grass)... Classic, intense Fiji flavors: above all fruit, plastic and ester+ funk Very similar on the palate, with the fruit and funkiness taking center stage. Very intense and quite smooth despite its young age. The dryness increases towards the finish and olives are added. A parade Fiji! Still impetuous due to its youth but still very good!

This is a really good Fiji for the first time in a long time. The mixture of fresh esters and sweet fruit, paired with spice, are a perfect match here! The alcohol is very well integrated. The only downside is the relatively short finish.

No idea if I've tried Fiji Rums from the 2012 Vintage, but I know this one is delicious. Plastic, fruit, glue ... it's all there. From recent memory also ahead of a couple of weaker 2001s from the community tasting. Alcohol pinches out a bit at the back.

My first Fiji from 2012, as far as I can remember. This one not only has a certain funk due to its esters, but also has a great sticky note, at least for me. The alcohol is also well integrated here.

And another Fiji afterwards, here too we have lots of esters and many tropical fruits. Glue and plastic are also recognizable here, also caramel and some wood. A quite decent rum but nothing special.

The Whisky Jury wins points with this relatively young, yet highly aromatic Fijian rum. The nose fascinates with its fruity aromas of yellow tropical fruit (papaya, mango, pineapple, banana), citrus and olive, which adds a little greenness. Medicinal and ester notes are present, but balance with the rest of the profile. There are a few spices and a slightly roasted woodiness accompanied by pastry touches of caramel and toffee. A typical, enchanting Fijian profile. The palate is oily, rather warm and intense, with spices (pepper, chili, vanilla), empyreumatic and funky notes. The profile retains panache with tropical fruits (mango, banana, pineapple) and freshness with floral flavors. Caramel and toffee add a hint of roundness. The profile is generous, very well controlled for its age and vintage. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is rather average in terms of length and relatively more subtle, notably on fruity aromas and freshness, which give way to more roasted, salty and medicinal notes. Spice, minerality and bitterness also gain ground on the palate, so that the profile becomes drier. A superb modern-day Fiji that offers a fine array of Fijian terroir with panache and mastery.

#5172 28.03.2025 Running through some samples at home. Nose Medium intense, round, light alcoholic, fruits, ester, light wood, light olives. Palate Fresh, oily, medium intense, fruits, light wood, light roasted, medium spicy, faint salt, light olive, ester, plastic. Finish Long and warm, fresh, light oily, light wood, light pineapple, spice. Empty glass Light glue, olive, caramel, spice.

Fijis have been popular and sought after among connoisseurs for years. My experience shows, however, that sometimes you can find a cat in the bag on the palate, completely independent of the basic data. So every Fiji is exciting for me. Today a comparative tasting. 1. sbs 2009 11yo: boring. a bit of dirty Fiji notes, but equally vanilla and licorice. 77 points. (2nd tasting: -4 points) 2. Famillie Ricci 22yo: tasty, very balanced, alcohol well integrated, somewhat peppery on the palate, astringent and sweet at the same time. The finish is short. Tasty 83 points. 3. Swell de Spirits 9yo: very smooth start, that changes immediately! xD a quickly smoked cigar naturally but instantly turns into smoke and ash. During this change the rum is very astringent and mouth-filling on the palate, awesome! A lot happens here (also dirty notes) in a very short time and in the end ash remains. Smooth and wild and smoky at the same time. The only drawback is the poorly integrated alcohol that gives an unpleasant long finish. At least we have 66% abv here. My expectations might just be too high in this regard. Interesting and I would really like to know how it tastes in the bottle after some months or even years. 85-88 points. 4. The whisky jury fiji 2012: well, I should have tried this before the swell. My mouth is still full of swell Fiji xD 10 minutes break. Much more pleasant, reminds of the elegance of a Neisson at the start and then it hits again like a Fiji. Dirty aromas garnished with vanilla. Tasty, complex but also quite sharp. The finish is pleasantly dry, young grass and vanilla, some spice. Tasty. I feel my palate is still inspired by the intense Swell =D 85 points. Hats off to the Swell, it doesn't leave me alone. Makes me very curious. This relationship could get pretty "toxic" if it gives me a chance.

My first Fiji rum from the 2012 vintage. For me, a mixture of the fruity, ester-rich vintages and the more spicy ones. The dirty plastic note is present, but not particularly pronounced. Alcohol is well integrated. The finish is unfortunately too thin.

The rum produces a beautiful aroma as soon as it is poured. The nose brings some stickiness and tropical fruit. This is how it tastes, but there is also some gentle spice and ends in a slightly salty finish. The alcohol is well balanced and not too distracting. Simply successful.

I haven't had many Fiji in my glass yet, but here the nose picks me up straight away with a still slightly green banana and esters. Very round and beautiful. On the palate there's another baked, slightly green banana, followed by esters, a little glue and some plastic. Reminds me a little of Papalin 7, which I also liked. The finish is banana-like and of medium length. For me, a really tasty drop, I even like it a tick better than the New Yarmouth 2009 from the same release.

Very nice Fiji rum, which not only offers esters but also got a proper cask influence without the refilled cask being heavily charred. The initially short finish becomes longer and tastier with every sip due to the lingering aromas. Particularly impressive is this fresh banana note… as if I were sitting in front of a big bowl of green bananas sliced with their peel.

Update 06/02/2026: Road Rummers S09T03 @ TasTToe. Score adjusted from 8.2 to 8.5 17/12/2025: sample received @ TasTToe. Good, classic Fiji nose with all the notes you would expect. The nose is initially muted so needs some time to open up. The palate is very similar, but has a rather short finish. Alcohol integrated very well.

Unusual technical aroma with tropical fruit. Lately I mostly had such smooth Fiji, so this definitely stands out. I like that difference. In the finish you can smell something between tonic and tequila. With (not only) this bottler I would appreciate if they indicated the number of years in the tropics and on the continent.

Rubber deluxe on the nose! Beautiful fruit on the palate. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Profile somewhere between 2001 (rubber dirt spinner) and 2009 (Mrs. Ester in your face!). Didn't expect much and was absolutely surprised. I like!

A complex nose that brings different fruits, plastic notes and a good amount of butterscotch. The taste is less complex with less fruity notes and more wood. Overall a good rum with a descent price at release. Needs to breathe for a while.

Quality SP profile here, dry with nicely balanced esters & fruit. Long finish & a nice palate stain. Blind tasting, 19/082026 - Sample from The Whisky Jury Tasting March 2026. Nose shows a wild funk that’s quickly wrapped in creamy musk, vanilla, and spice. Then back to and an old dusty bookshelf character before leather saddle notes take over that screams WP!. Palate is punchy, very savory, and laden with spice. Finish leans woody and astringent, with funk and leather lingering. 7/10 if you’re in the mood. Revealed: Punchy, just like you’d expect from Whiskey Jury.

🥃 TWJ – Fidji 2012 (57.5%) Pot still, bottled brut at 57.5%. 👃 Ultra fruity nose: well-ripened citrus, smoky, a little “plastic” touch that intrigues… but it works. 👄 On the palate? Surprise! We almost navigate Jamaica: olive, smoke, banana, chocolate, vanilla. An accessible Fidji, well constructed, quite consensual. It won't revolutionize the genre… but clearly, it does the job 👌

Solvents and olive on the nose... reminds me of clarendon (the spirit). Gingerbread (cinnamon, nutmeg... ), buttery, little notes of tire, eucalyptus. There's also a hint of peatiness that might remind me of a Guyanna.

Very interesting rum! The nose on this is unmatched chemical, glue. Short finish. Picked me up a bottle after a taster and every time I drink this it doesn't disappoint. This one got me into Fiji/South Pacific.
