Another big surprise considering the price of the bottle. The Foursquare flavours are there and the rum is very well balanced with fruit, wood and spice trailed by some caramel.

Nose: Wonderful intensity of vanilla and spices. Reminds me of mulled wine. Additionally caramel and slightly alcoholic. Palate: Quite alcoholic start, with almost endless fullness and warmth. It takes a while for the flavors of vanilla and wood to come through. Slight peppery notes appear and a dominant spiciness, but without becoming bitter. Finish: Long, warm finish with wood and plenty of spice, which only after some time takes on slightly bitter notes. Conclusion: Top rum that, for its 9 years, has a decent variety of aromas in a pleasant intensity.

A less usual Foursquare bottling from the French at Ferroni. On the nose, aging in red wine casks is clearly noticeable, the standard FQ profile is a bit in the background. On the palate, everything is a bit more classic with wood, vanilla, and caramel. The higher alcohol content is noticeable and it makes sense to start with something lower proof.

Beautiful dark mahogany and clear color, extraordinary nose, gourmand, round, pastry-like, almond and slightly smoky. Strong and alcoholic palate, with traces of varnish, a certain impetuosity but which gives way to aromas of old Caribbean rums ending on an alcoholic and very woody note.
