#6873 31.05.2026 Just got back from a hike with my wife, basically walking on the edge of the cliff sometimes. Watching the last day of the Giro d'Italia. A VERY decent rum with a very good price tag in my mind. A sweet profile with nice spices, fruits, roasted wood and some tobacco.

Very soft nose on caramel and vanilla. Notes of wood as well. Surprisingly powerful on the palate given the alcohol strength. Very round and sweet rum. No doubt, this is a Spanish style. Not much length but not unpleasant. Well made.

Very smoky, spicy and fruity on the nose. Quite strong for 42%, yet balanced. Similar continues in the Mii UK ne. Lagavulin on the finish. Long. Islay smoke with fruits. Interesting and good.

Tasting evening and crush! While I was very disappointed with Maison du Rhum on Colombia, here we have a product that instantly stands out. The nose is confusing, both round but loaded, a Spanish fortified wine? Apparently it’s the sherry cask finish speaking. A palate to re-taste now that I have the bottle, but I thought of mezcal, it’s smoky, there’s tobacco too. Quite a long finish that gradually takes space, with some fruits and always the whisky finish coming back. Great product :)
