Something special! Lots of sour fruit and berries, wine and wood, but also a faint tobacco/cocoa note. Dry, fruity and a little musty in the mouth, which fits the image of a Jamaican. However, there is also chocolate. Sweet caramel joins the chocolate and fruit in the finish. Conclusion: Jamaican rum in a roundabout way as a complex fruit wine bomb! I like it better than the "normal" representatives, although this rum would have benefited from a little more complexity.

I got a free backup bottle of this rum and I still like it a lot as an everyday rum. A wonderful rum which went through 5 different cask types before being bottled. Very nicely balanced between sweet and fruits. The price tag for this bottle is very good compared to what you get.

On the nose a bit of vanilla mascarpone cream with red fruit jelly or wine jelly. On the palate the red fruit jelly with many sour berries continues combined with dark chocolate and red wine and lots of tannins, which is extremely harmonious and delicious. Then the typical Worthy Park banana and nut and wood note. In the finish some roasted nuts, fruit bread, candied ginger and again the red wine tannins. Surprisingly good and not too woody, but could be a bit less bitter... Definitely an exceptional WP!

8,1:On the nose, more industrial, metallic notes like rubber, varnish, copper, then roasted, smoky wood notes with leather, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, pastry, caramel, baked apple, wine barrel finish impact with dried fruits, grapes, sour cherry, berries, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, hints of tar and menthol join the game, fruitcake and gingerbread, baking spices, various fruits like peaches, tropical with banana, citrus, as the molasses is earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is rather dry, as the barrel impact is strong, fruity with red wine notes like berries with raspberry, cherry, grapes, dried fruits, tropical fruits join, the wood is roasted with caramel, pastry, biscuits, nuts, dark chocolate, perhaps fudge, spicy and salty, as the molasses is herbaceous, vegetal, earthy with tobacco.Tar and rubber, menthol accompany the interplay of Jamaican funk. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, slightly metallic, roasted, toasted wood notes like nuts, tons of confectionery, spicy, smoky, pair dark molasses with licorice, fresh with tea and dried fruits, berries. So, penultimate up today is a nice Worthy Park. The nose is mainly woody, with a hint of wine. On the palate there is also wine and wood, and it is also very fruity.

For me, the wine notes here are a bit too much, overshadowing the actual profile. Also, I find it has a smoky and sour note, which unfortunately spoils a better rating. I expected a bit more from this bottling.

Due to the different wine barrels, naturally with a strong wine taste. But it has created a nice profile. Nose beautifully round. Very delicate also on the palate, but here the rum comes through a bit more. If the bottle had just come onto the market now, I would say a good Pago alternative, both nice to drink and which one you prefer might also depend more on the day's mood or chance. There will surely be more barrel experiments from WP.

The Worthy Park is still noticeable. Great rum, nice play of aromas. For the price, it is ahead of its big brother, the 12-year-old. Good for beginners. Today, I find it a bit too thin.

Tasted out of curiosity and confirms that, in many cases, wine influences are not for me. This rum has a truly predominant wine influence that almost hides the real rum taste itself.

The distillery's character is unmistakable in the nose, and thanks to the crazy finishing, the wine is quite noticeable. A very nice combo. I perceive it similarly on the palate. Classic WP, but nicely spiced up with finishes. Very approachable and fun piece.

Good scent, sharper taste

Smells sweetish, pleasant, no kanagom at all but you can taste the Jamaica in the flavor. It has 52%, but seems much stronger to me. The strength shows only after swallowing. The taste stays for a very long time.
