Edit: Since the RX number corresponds to my birth year, DomM forced it on me today for my birthday. After a few drams before, I rated it higher in my drunkenness. Belize tasting at DomM Very poorly integrated alcohol

This weekend was very busy because I've been building a new shelf system for my 250+ bottles so my Saturday and Sunday tastings haven't been added :-) I like the smokiness in this particular one.

Hot one! With 64,3% this rum burns you out. The nose is quite sweet of caramel and vanilla, but strong. The mouth is not so sweet but more spicy. You recognise the Travellers sweet basis, but the cask strength supports the strong alcoholic and spicy impression. The finish is warm, long and strong down your throat. Still drinkable without water added (but with water added you also get different flavours) and one of my favourites, though not for every day drinking.

A good classic Belize, all the usual markers are there. Alcohol very well integrated. Slightly lacking complexity and length (it's still a 2006), but a very valid and pleasant release.

Comparative tasting from Belize. Rather dark and dry profile. It seems a bit unbalanced to me: you can taste the wood and alcohol a bit too much for my liking. Lacks freshness.
