Expect honey, vanilla and sour cherry up front, with a fruit-schnapps nose several tasters compared to Obstbrand, even mezcal or sake. It's sweet and a little unbalanced — one member called it a "sehr leckerer Kirschlikör," a cherry liqueur that still reads as rum.

You could almost say a very tasty cherry liqueur, but it's still rum. Very slight sake note, not as intense as in Nine Leaves. Besides the sweet-fruity, especially spicy in the nose and finish.

Interesting citrus aroma with citrus and honey highlights. Some spices. Very unusual taste, quite salty. It's very sweet and has distinct sweet and sour taste. The licorice and anise are present in this rum and I'm really not a fan of these.

It’s first aged for 3 years in teak barrels, then for 4 years in ex-Bourbon oak barrels and finally finished during one year in former Sherry barrels. Overall a little bit better than expected, but unfortunately a little bit too sweet for my taste.

Also relatively sweet this rum, but still within limits. You have honey, vanilla and caramel on the nose. For me, the palate adds a nice honeycomb and also licorice can be tasted. Quite okay.

A bit confusing, but interesting. I get all kinds of associations with different spirits. Including rhum agricole and mezcal. This continues, albeit cautiously, on the palate. Quite sweet

Honey, vanilla and wood dominate the nose and palate here. It even reminds me a bit of mezcal on the palate. Interesting combination, but quite weak with a short finish; personally also too sweet for me.

👃 is a no no. Fruit schnaps, very heavy and alcoholic. Dried fruits such as figs, raisins. 👅 Is completely different. Rather sweet, 🍫, very nice very surprising sweet rum. Probably the best Naga. I am very surprised even better than Siam. Lovely I will probably need to get a bottle.

Good rum. The smell is sweet and inviting. The taste leaves a simple sweet taste in your mouth with a slight burn. The alcohol does not overpower the overall flavours and leaves you wanting for more. Overall it is a nice sipping rum and would not hesitate to add to my collection.

The Naga Java Reserve Double Cask Aged Small Batch is made from sugarcane molasses grown in Indonesia. Following old Asian techniques, the molasses was slowly fermented with a special yeast from red rice. The blend contains light rum from column still and heavy rum from pot still. After distillation, it matures for several years in former bourbon and teak wood barrels. Afterwards, the Naga Batavia Arrack Triple Cask Pearl of Jakarta received a 12-month finish in cherry wood barrels. The aroma initially reminds one of a fruit brandy. However, with some air, honey comes to the forefront.

I couldn´t wait to try this rum and as expected I was stunned. This rum is very specific, the nose is fresh, I can smell smoked bacon with vanilla. What a duo. The taste is soft and sweet with spice and fruits, even notes of sherry. It is weird rum, this mixture of tastes in it is strange, but why not? I will definitely try some other Naga rum, they could definitely create something with potential.

Naga Triple Wood. A rum from Indonesia. The cradle of sugarcane! This is the basic Naga aged 1 additional year in cherry wood barrels. Result: it’s a bit more tannic and spicy than the base version. But the nose and palate are mainly on honey. Easy to drink, the bottle empties in the blink of an eye.

Smells of bananas, later of banana brandy. Taste is intense at first, chocolatey, a bit smoky, then softens and is smooth, pleasant, long-lasting, sweet. At 42% I wouldn't say, more like 38%.

14.10.2018 Nice little get together with new rum friends. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: wood, light smoke, cherry, fruity. Palate: light, sweet, unbalanced, fruity, caramel, alcoholic. Finish: short to medium, fruity, sweet, wood, alcoholic.

Intricately crafted but too sweet. Nose: Quite noticeable alcohol overnotes. Reminds me a lot of a whiskey finished in sherry barrels. Palate: Flavor and burn are almost entirely separated. Sweet tea with lots of sugar and a bouquet of tropical fruits (papaya in particular). Finish: Average finish length that does leave a certain sugary residue feeling. I was intrigued by the crafting of this rum. It’s a mix of pot still and column still and also a mix of aging in both bourbon barrels and sherry casks. Normally I am a huge fan of sherry cask aging but here sweet is laid upon sweet a little bit too much. Obviously not intended to be a pure dessert rum but too sweet to be enjoyed for long as a sipper. Hard to recommend.
