Hergestellt wird der Naga Java Reserve Double Cask Aged Small Batch aus Zuckerrohrmelasse aus indonesischem Anbau. Nach alten asiatischen Techniken wurde die Melasse mit einer speziellen Hefe aus rotem Reis langsam fermentiert. Der Blend enthält leichten Rum aus Column Still und schweren Rum aus Pot Still. Nach der Destillation erfolgt die Reifung für mehrere Jahre in ehemaligen Bourbon- und Teakholzfässern. Im Anschluss erhielt der Naga Batavia Arrack Triple Cask Pearl of Jakarta ein 12-monatiges Finish in Kirschholzfässern. Das Aroma erinnerst zunächst an einen Obstbrand. Mit etwas Luft tritt allerdings Honig in den Vordergrund.

I couldn´t wait to try this rum and as expected I was stunned. This rum is very specific, the nose is fresh, I can smell smoked bacon with vanilla. What a duo. The taste is soft and sweet with spice and fruits, even notes of sherry. It is weird rum, this mixture of tastes in it is strange, but why not? I will definitely try some other Naga rum, they could definitely create something with potential.

Ein sehr leckerer Kirschlikör könnte man fast sagen, aber es ist doch Rum. Ganz leichte Sake Note nicht so intensiv wie bei Nine Leaves. Neben dem süß-fruchtigen vor allem in der Nase und Abgang würzig.

Naga Triple Wood. Un rhum d’Indonésie. Le berceau de la canne à sucre ! Il s’agit du Naga de base vieillis 1 an supplémentaire en fûts de merisier. Résultat, c’est un peu plus tannique et épicé que la version de base. Mais le nez et la bouche sont principalement sur le miel. Facile à boire, la bouteille se vide en un clin d’œil.

👃 is a no no. Fruit schnaps, very heavy and alcoholic. Dried fruits such as figs, raisins. 👅 Is completely different. Rather sweet, 🍫, very nice very surprising sweet rum. Probably the best Naga. I am very surprised even better than Siam. Lovely I will probably need to get a bottle.

Good rum. The smell is sweet and inviting. The taste leaves a simple sweet taste in your mouth with a slight burn. The alcohol does not overpower the overall flavours and leaves you wanting for more. Overall it is a nice sipping rum and would not hesitate to add to my collection.

Intricately crafted but too sweet. Nose: Quite noticeable alcohol overnotes. Reminds me a lot of a whiskey finished in sherry barrels. Palate: Flavor and burn are almost entirely separated. Sweet tea with lots of sugar and a bouquet of tropical fruits (papaya in particular). Finish: Average finish length that does leave a certain sugary residue feeling. I was intrigued by the crafting of this rum. It’s a mix of pot still and column still and also a mix of aging in both bourbon barrels and sherry casks. Normally I am a huge fan of sherry cask aging but here sweet is laid upon sweet a little bit too much. Obviously not intended to be a pure dessert rum but too sweet to be enjoyed for long as a sipper. Hard to recommend.

It’s first aged for 3 years in teak barrels, then for 4 years in ex-Bourbon oak barrels and finally finished during one year in former Sherry barrels. Overall a little bit better than expected, but unfortunately a little bit too sweet for my taste.

Auch relativ süss dieser Rum, aber alles noch im Rahmen. Man hat hier Honig, Vanille und Karamell in der Nase. Kommt für mich im Gaumen dann noch eine schöne Bienenwabe dazu und auch Lakritze ist zu schmecken. Ganz ok.
