Rhum House ReimonenQ Grande Réserve 2012
Apricot, vanilla and cream toffee lead here, with a floral, almost perfumed edge that several tasters call unmistakably Reimonenq. It's an unusually sweet agricole — more nougat and caramel than grassy — with oak sitting underneath. Blind-tasters spotted it fast for that "high recognition" profile. The 56% is mostly well-tucked, though a few found the fruit tipping slightly artificial.

Sweet, floral apricot agricole for dessert Well-liked as a sweet, dessert-leaning agricole with a distinctive floral-apricot character. The recurring catch: some find it simply too sweet, and a touch sour or hot on the finish.

16.03.2026 Retasting and this time I like it far more, maybe because it has been resting for a while in my sample glass. ------------- Sweet for an Agricole and lightly dry at the same time. Very fruity from opening the bottle and pouring the sip. Nice wood/oak without being too dominant. I like that you get the licorice in between the spices on this one. Price to quality is good in my humble opinion.

Heavy and dark in the nose. Backing spices, dark chocolate and dried fruits (apricots and oranges). Gives a gingerbread vibes quite fitting to this time around d the year. While tasty, also a bit stingy. On the palate less dark notes. There is still some chocolate and backing spices, front row goes to apricot, however. There is also quite some sweetness, creating a somewhat artificial taste to the fruity notes for me. Hazelnut and nugourt. Again a bit stingy.

RumX Advent calendar 11.12.2023 A poem! Sweet, lovely, but still unmistakably an Agricole. Alcohol incredibly well integrated. Would have guessed a Courcelles. I really like this Rhum a lot.

RumX Advent calendar day 11 Nice piece, but doesn't hit my current taste at the moment. Somehow I find it a bit sour on the finish. Nevertheless, expanded my horizon.

RumX Advent 11.12.23 Wonderful agricole😋 Awesome overall combo. Intense, spicy. From typical Agricole markers to black tea, honey, brioche, dried apricot, allspice. Good balance without losing strength. Cool stuff.

A bit alcohol-sharp on the nose, although only 56% ABV, but then very nice, matured agricole notes, with increasing standing time also quite a bit of butterscotch notes. On the palate panna cotta with a shot of fruit brandy and green vegetables. Exciting stuff!

RumX Advent Calendar 2023 Day 11

Nose: when the initial alcoholic bite is gone, this Agricole surprises with a very floral, flowery note. First association is rose. Then come sweet, fruity tones of cherry and date. The sweetness also reminds of sugar water. Then come fragrant sandalwood and vanilla. Fresh chamomile at the back. Very unusual and lovely nose. Exciting. 8.4 Palate: wow, that surprises. Totally bitter-sweet start. Yet also spicy and slightly floral. Still it somehow has something closed. Brioche with vanilla, anise and tonka bean. Sweetness of sugar and nougat paired with fragrant rose. Chamomile at the back. What an extraordinary Agricole. 8.8 Surprisingly different and that's why so good. Great drop!!!

Nose very nicely lightly floral with vanilla and beautiful apricot, very pleasant. On the palate slightly sweet yellow fruits and some pepper. The rum is fun. Maybe not quite so balanced in taste but all the more interesting. Makes you want to discover more from Reimoneq. So thanks for this discovery in the RumX calendar.

RumX calendar day 11 Pleasant floral nose combined with grassy freshness. On the palate further typical agricole notes, which turn into a slightly sour profile. Finish short and flat.

A very present woodiness on a very sweet rum with a more indulgent profile than usual for a pure Guadeloupe juice. A fruity and caramelized nose. On the palate, a sensation of nougat, vanilla, and green pepper accompany the wood. A lovely discovery this rum.

Very sweet and easy-drinking ReimonenQ. Ideal dessert.

RumX Advent calendar day 12 - 11.12.2024 Unmistakable also blindly tasting, this is a Reimonenq. Apricots, almonds, mainly the sugared ones. A bit of coffee, also in the mouth, but it is mainly a sweet rum, a lovely one.

RumX Advent calendar 11.12.23: The nose welcomes with a typical combination of fruit (apricot?), wood, and that very peculiar, perfume-like note that I only know from Guadeloupe. In the last advent calendar, Domaine des Courcelles had a similar note, so I guess it's a different distillery. My guess for today: Reimonenq, 10 years tropical, <55%. Overall a nice profile with high recognizability and great mouthfeel. For a top rating, it lacks a bit of complexity, but I'm still very grateful to have tried a Reimonenq at cask strength, as there aren't many bottlings.

Rum x Calendar 23 Day 11 Unfortunately, it's too sweet for me...
Review by Mentalo
Relatively sweet, especially the more time it gets in the glass. The vegetal Agricole notes come through between fruity and perfumed notes. Reminds me of Domaine de Courcelles in profile, although the ReimonenQ unsurprisingly can't keep up. Still a nice bottling, even if it's too sweet for me.

#24DaysOfRum2023 - Day 11 The experience boasts a musty and spicy nose, reminiscent of blended red wine. It starts rather sweet with notes of dates, sugarcane and vanillapod. Then it slowly transforms into more spicy aromas such as licorice and cloves, before isobutanol notes strong-arm the entirety into an old wine cellar sensation with the more recognisable agricole features such as dried mushrooms, grass, green olives and a bit of stewed vegetables. After sipping, the aromas drastically change to a more nougat-driven nose, which I personally like much more than the wine powertrain. Quite the indulgence on the palate. Very sweet and nutty before again, more spicy lashes. Foremost tannic and musty, before leaning into green tea and vegetables. The finish is cloyingly sweet with fructose and nougat. An atypical sweetness for this style. It’s good, but much too sweet, too tannic, and therefore not my cup of tea.

Very unusual profile in nose and taste, dominated by sweet tones, apricot and creamy caramel.

RumX Advent calendar No. 11: Very sweet agricole rum. Alcohol is strongly present despite the 53%.

RX calendar day 11 Agricole meets sweet liquor and it actually works quite well. Licorice harmonizes with heavy caramel, fruit and flowers.
Review by Lot-NAS
Calendar #11 / blind Sweet, caramel and some spices are also present. The citrus fruits, honey, dried honeydew melon and something roasted. On the palate then quite strongly alcoholic at the start. I would estimate just over 52%, but not particularly well integrated. The fruits are clearly less present here, lots of caramel spices and vegetal notes. The finish is rather short and also marked by alcohol. Besides that caramel in various forms, candied ginger and some vanilla. I agree with Agricole, it could also be Bielle, but my search ends here...
