Tasted this rum at my recent visit to the distillery. It’s a blend of molasses based Column Still rum and Copper Double Retort Pot Still rum. It’s aged for 2-3 years in charred ex-American whiskey casks. Overall a rather thin rum that’s nothing to write home about that’s better used as a mixer. The nose is fruity, spicy and nutty with scents of banana, vanilla, almonds, caramel and dark chocolate. At the palate it’s woody, fruity, smoky white burnt notes and flavors of oak, strawberry and orange. The finish is medium long.
