8,1:On the nose, the first impression we have is fruity with an apricots, cherries and very buttery butterscotch, as woodiness is greedy but also seems very old-fashioned, rustic, with a melted, past character. You get the feeling that the tannins have mellowed with age. Aeration develops chocolate notes, dark, round, some really roasted, others more fermented, there is some vanilla and metallic notes with menthol later on. 8::On the palate, the rustic character comes through much less.The woodiness is now typical of American oak, with vanilla, spicy, tobacco, sweet caramel and a touch of coconut milk.With nice rest, there is some gourmet nougat, tannins come out and is a bit metallic, as fruit compote with clove is also there. 7,8:The finish is long, woody, dry and spicy, there are tannins, cocoa, coconut, chocolate and toffee.. Blind tasting 01.02.2024, 1st rum Nose: first spicy, then increasingly sweet, Jamaica? Palate: no, not Jamaica, very light, but not typically fruity-ester Jamaican; you can drink it, but you don’t have to. Reveal: Belize? I would never have guessed. Certainly a good beginner.

Typical Spanish nose with an extremely herbal note. Somehow acidic-fermented, for me extremely disturbing and almost disgusting. On the palate, fortunately, nothing of this to feel, a strong-spicy rum for Spanish conditions, vA at this ABV. However, I lack a little special here, so that my overall result by the Störenfriede nose rather sober.

Gave the rum another chance since it didn't convince me last time, let's see how it goes this time. Very spicy rum with sweet hints. On the nose you get a lot of sugar smell (although it is not sweetened). Again a lot of spice that hits you with sweet fruity hints. Now on the second tasting it's a bit better, still not a bottle I'd buy again but better than last time.

Tasted in a blind tasting, clearly a molasses rum - short on the finish. I was very surprised that it is from Belize, as I associate those more with coconut and old New Yarmouths. This one actually has a slight mint note, which is why I would have placed it closest to TDL - I can well imagine it for mixing.

A rum in the cheaper end of the scale but stiil does an OK job. Sweet and fruity with an oily palate. The empty glass is also sweet and has a light nougat note.

The nose is very restrained, slightly nougat and chocolate, and coconut. On the palate much more present, initially slightly sweet with nougat / chocolate flavor! Towards the back, light wood notes are added. The finish is slightly astringent! Delicious

top plv belize 🙏 you really can not complain for the money and reflects Belize beautifully again as one of the few drinking strengths what taugt!🍍🇧🇿ich just stand on grilled and caramelized pineapple...for me clearly the nose ahead compared to the new 12y Belize of 1731🤤Incredibly good also for cocktails, for me in terms of easy sipping

Cheap sipper that brings a lot for the money. Light coconut and woody vanilla on the nose meet roasted wood on the tongue, plus a pretty sweet note - just barely okay, not too cloying. Not a highlight, but you can take it for in-between.

The nose is inviting, slightly fruity, with a nice aroma. The alcohol is well integrated and the 46% fits well. Fine bubbles in the glass. You taste sweetness, spices, some wood and pepper. The finish is medium, dry and very pleasant. A rum to end the day with but also good for in between.

The nose is relatively flat and gives off hardly any aromas. You can guess coconut, caramel, and vanilla here. Also on the palate, unfortunately quite watery and unspectacular due to the reduction. For the price, I prefer Doorly's.

Nice aroma that comes across quite fruity, but very gentle overall. Pineapple and sweet dried fruits come to mind. On the palate, overall more of the cask. I like it, very easy to drink.

Well. Maybe you can't expect more for the price. A bit of caramel, wood and for me too much smoke. Now it's all gone. The gap on the shelf will be filled with another rum.

Sweetened. Still tasty. I like the interplay of roasted and fruity notes. The finish is a bit strange. Slightly numbing, like quince. That was at least my first association. The alcohol note is clearly noticeable but not unpleasant. Recommended up to 40€.

On The Rocks: On the nose it has a dusty aged mild fruit and spice but is not sweet smelling at all. Taste has an initial alcohol with burn with a very delayed building of fruit flavours and sweetness going into the finish. Finish is medium with the fruit and sweetness fading away. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose it smells like an old dusty warehouse containing Pepsi zero. Taste has a mild fruit and sweetness that just coasts into the finish. It is equally good mixed and on the rocks.

Read full review ›It's no secret that I really enjoy smoky rums. I love the aroma of charred barrels and burnt caramel that wonderfully perfumes the entire rum. The bottle itself might not attract as much attention as other brands (although the tube is very nice), but when you put several bottles from this producer and different origins side by side, it looks great.
