This is the oldest of the Exquisito blends. It has a lot of taste from the cask and that makes it a really good rum though it's a little bit out of balance. Not your typical Oliver &. Oliver in my mind.

Yes, this Oliver & Oliver is quite okay. It's a rather sweet rum, but still within reason. Vanilla and caramel on the nose. Then also slightly sweet on the palate. Also vanilla and caramel, but also slightly spicy and woody.

Very mild rum. Unspecific nose impression. Soft and sweetish. Better on the palate though. Sweet basic aroma with cask notes. Easy to drink without any sharp edges. Entry-level rum also suitable for alcohol-sensitive folks. OK but nothing special.

🥃 Review – Oliver’s Exquisito 1985 Solera The Oliver’s Exquisito 1985 Solera is one of those rums that make you appreciate calm and slowness. Elegant, enveloping, and definitely in the Spanish style, it’s a beautiful expression of the Oliver & Oliver school, a Dominican producer known for its soft and well-balanced blends. 👃 Nose: At first opening, it offers a warm and round bouquet: caramel, vanilla, honey, and dried fruit upfront, followed by more evolved notes of sweet tobacco, aged wood, and candied orange peel. After a few minutes in the glass, touches of dark chocolate and toasted coconut appear, completing the aromatic profile with elegance. 👅 Palate: On the sip, it’s soft and velvety, with a measured sweetness that doesn’t tire. Clearly perceived are toffee, dates, and molasses, balanced by a slight accent of sweet spices, cocoa, and oak wood. Everything flows in great harmony, without excess. 🪵 Aging: As per Oliver’s tradition, this rum is the result of a Solera system, where younger vintages are progressively blended with older rums, in this case with components dating back to 1985. The maturation takes place in ex-bourbon oak barrels, which give that warm and vanilla signature typical of the Spanish style. 🔥 Finish: The finish is long and silky, with returns of burnt caramel, spices, and sweet wood. It leaves a warm and clean sensation, with a hint of tobacco and chocolate that lingers for a long time. 💬 In summary: A refined, pleasant rum perfectly consistent with the Oliver & Oliver philosophy: balance, softness, and drinkability. Not a monster of complexity, but an elegant and relaxed distillate, to be enjoyed in good company or in meditative solitude. 👉 Well done, round and satisfying, but not overwhelming.

Oliver, heavier than usual offer but it is nice soft, balanced, raisins, vanilla, oak. Very short finish and I am not going to talk about the price, just ridiculous. Sweet rum but a great dessert.
