Guyana fans who like a twist will get the most here: a 26-year Port Mourant finished in an ex-Caroni cask, so on top of the usual dried fruit, old varnished wood, leather and smoke you get tropical fruit and a whiff of engine-room rubber. Several tasters find the nose beats the palate, and one calls it "to sweet to smoky."

First of all, many thanks to Maria from precious liquors for the free sample. As you would expect, another successful bottling from them. You can argue about the price, but it's simply quality that keeps coming back in the bottle.

#5414 21.06.2025 Relaxing with a few sample while preparing for a private tasting in the afternoon. Nose Wood, light caramel, dried fruit, faint honey, light roasted, light nutts, faint citrus. Palate Oily, balanced, wood, light roasted, faint melon, light citrus, dried fruit, light caramel, light floral, spice. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, oily, faint chocolate, spice. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, raisin, faint melon, citrus, herbs. German Rum Fest 2024 sample.

It's Uitvlugt again without end, slowly I'm starting to like these musty ones. It's definitely very smoky, woody, and also toasty. Leather can be detected on the palate, also chocolate and a bit of vanilla. Tasty :) (Maybe it's also because of the Caroni cask :))

Small tasting of Precious Liquors from RCS. A classic Uitvlugt nose, dried fruits, old varnished wood, leather, and smoke. But here, the tropical fruits and mechanical workshop notes from the ex-Caroni cask finish add an obvious extra. The first sip is disappointing, a bit flat, dominated by wood and less complex. Then the aromas build in power and complexity. The finish is beautiful and long but still less complex than the nose. Then a slight mechanical workshop note reappears. A very nice rum overall. The empty glass looks great!

Uitvlugt from a Mizunara cask that was previously topped with Tortuga 3-Caroni. It was very exciting to see how much of the heavy Caroni notes were transferred to the Uitvlugt. A successful experiment.

Very interesting Uitvlugt, where you can taste the influence of the ex-Caroni cask from the very first drop. It is otherwise characterized by notes of wood and dried fruit. The sweetness is subtle and harmonizes perfectly with the alcohol. The purchase was well worth it

Shy nose on rubber, gum, apricot, orange, pastry notes. With aeration more empyreumatic notes, a slight vanilla, and a veil of wood settles or an almond powder. Mouth on the same line. A woody veil completes the gourmand palette. The 50% still give us a nice length and preserve the fruity aromas. A caress on the palate! The profile evolves long towards mango, ripe exotic fruits, a slight caramel while a smoky thread settles in the background. Note also a small handful of spices. Ultra gourmand, almost like low Estes Jamaica.

I really, really like the idea of the DNC (do not collect) collection. This bottling is a 26-year-old Port Mourant aged in a Caroni cask. That gives it a very intense and unusual nose for Guyana, which is somewhat better than the taste. Still nice!

Really nice idea this marriage between a PM that must have been quite old, fruity and elegant with a heavy Caroni and a cask that really leaves its mark. It doesn’t turn this rum into a rubber beast or some kind of wood juice, but it gives it a rich and indulgent side that suits it perfectly. In short, I’m quite a fan of this little bottle... which unfortunately has a certain price for a mere 20 centiliters. After all, 26 years on the clock always costs, just like the LM&V version back in the day.

Caroni cask nice influence:) starting with smoky nose, lots of wood, roasted nuts, dried fruits. I expected more from palate, it is not much complex, but you clearly recognize Caroni influence, some spice, dry and bitter notes, oil, dark chocolate. Medium finish.

On initial smell it gives off a stronger abv than on the bottle. With petrol and roasted wood. Very easy sip and not as strong as the smell. Initially sweet like plums, cherry summer fruits. Medium finish with tasting holding on nice. Very surprising

Tasted at German rum festival Good rum. I had higher expectations on this rum comparing to the other bottlings by Precious Liquors. This one is overshadowed by all the other amazing rums.
