Impressive. Level: difficult. Quite a lot of notes for only 626 esters. Good balance with the alkohol. It gives me a Bassets wine gums and metallic umami taste. I think I will be tasting this bottle a lot of times to get my arms around it. Great experience that I don't have quite like it, maybe with a La Perle, but much sweeter and aged than, and a lot more citrus sweets taste to accompany. Absolutely wonderful.

Palate Medium intense, medium dry, ester, fresh, citrus, light berries, olive, faint salt, light nutts, light glue, faint floral, light mint. Finish Long and warm, ester, oily, citrus, light mint, medium dry, light berries.

Savanna Herr blanc 57. Das ist einfach weißer Rum der Spaß macht. Ich kann hier gar nicht soviel vergleichen wie andere da ich die älteren Versionen kaum oder nicht kenne. Vermutlich gab es da intensivere Abfüllungen, aber wir sind nun Mal im hier und jetzt. Aber auch hier mangelt es nicht an Intensität. Toller Rum und da ich ihn im Daiquiri schon probiert hatte weiß ich das schmeckt einfach nur lecker!

Tasted at Rhum Fest Paris 2024. This is one of the savanna I love, the only sidenote is that for a couple of hours after the dram nothing was even noticeable:S Typical Herr, explosive and long lasting in the mouth. I love it

The 2023 bottling is once again on top... for me it comes close to the Habiation Velier bottling. Not quite as present on the nose as this one, but almost on a par on the palate. I mixed a cocktail straight away (mojito) and had a real taste sensation. This is how the white HERR must be 🤩 Edit: Tasted again in the Savanna Masterclass. My rating remains

Nachverkostung Masterclass Savanna Highlights Ester. Diesmal ein HERR. In der Nase überwiegend Ester und Ananas, aber auch leicht metallisch. Am Gaumen ebenfalls Ester und Ananas, Alkohol könnte aber besser eingebunden sein. Erinnert mich etwas an Obstler. Trotzdem echt gut.

This new HERR seemed better than the previous one. A sensation of better integration of the alcohol. It's extreme and insanely long. Not an everyday drink, but truly unique. Very ripe fruit, esters, light brine. A lot of fun.

Un Savanna lourd à l’état brut. Le nez est submergé de notes chimiques allant des bonbons Haribo à la fraise aux esters, en passant par la colle, les solvants, des notes métalliques et des fruits trop mûrs (ananas, banane, framboise). On retrouve un côté légèrement épicé qui donne un petit plus à ce nez ultra concentré. L’attaque en bouche est puissante, médicinale et très funky. Les notes d’eau-de-vie, de fruits confits, de fruits tropicaux et de fruits rouges font le show devant les notes végétales et phénoliques. Il pourrait presque se mâcher comme un chewing-gum avec les mêmes saveurs chimiques. L’alcool est très bien intégré dans cet ensemble aromatique et intense. La finale est dans le prolongement de ce qu’on perçoit au nez et en bouche, un concentré de fruits et d’esters en tout genre, mais avec un petit agrément sur les épices, le cuir et des notes confites. Un Savanna qui a tout pour plaire, et qui ne demande qu’à être vieilli pour donner une nouvelle licorne réunionnaise.

Der ungereifte HERR ist immer wieder ein Genuss. Bisweilen schimmert es etwas metallisch durch, aber an den nachhaltigen Aromen von Ananas und Beerenfrüchten hat man auch lange Zeit nach dem Runterschlucken noch seine Freude. Außergewöhnliche Demonstration, wie ein ein High-Ester-Rum außerhalb der Jamaika-Welt aussieht. Intensiv Ananas, Beeren, saure Früchte und einen Hauch pflanzliche Aromen. Im Mund geht es analog weiter und ich finde, dass man diesen weißen Rum auch pur trinken kann.
