After pouring, cocoa and roasted almonds fill the nose. On the palate, spicy fruit, caramel and light coconut with a little pepper. The finish is longer than expected with a nice dark woody note. I only wanted to try one glass, but ended up with 4 because it is very drinkable.

A delicious rum from Belize. The nose is particularly dense with notes of pastries, burnt sugar, dark chocolate and vanilla, but is also overtaken by banana, pineapple and cherry behind a woody, spicy section. An uncomplicated but very drinkable profile. The addition of sugar makes itself felt with this very caramelized and syrupy side that strikes immediately on the palate. We're on a bourbon candy, seasoned with sweet spices, well candied and embellished with sweet, chocolatey notes that stick to the teeth. The banana makes a brief appearance, hinting at a banana split of sorts. The alcohol is faint, with the diabetic overdose described above. The finish, a little dull, stays in the mouth only thanks to its viscous, gourmand side that clogs the palate. A touch of chocolate, coffee, sweet, toasted and spicy notes and it's done. A rather basic profile, a little nauseating and, on top of that, rather expensive for the quality provided.

Empty glass light cherry, light caramel, light coffee, faint herbs.

Hanse Spirit Hamburg Februar 2026.

Beautiful new one-time edition from planteray. This Belize reminds me strongly of a delicious banana split sundae. Dark chocolate, candied banana and pineapple with whipped cream. Slight deductions because, in my opinion, an unnecessary dosage of 8g has been used here again, which makes the whole thing just too sweet for my taste.

Delicious easy sipper! Milk chocolate, a little coconut, yellow fruit, not particularly complex, but very pleasant.

Very accessible Belize rum thanks to the light dosage. Reminiscent of a Banena split.

Not overly complex but somehow really balanced and a nice easy sipper. With alle the vanilla, spices and caramel, dried fruits and a subtle sourness it could be a prototype of rums of its kind. Only downside is the a bit too noticeable alcohol even at the relatively low ABV (48,3). I am curious if the dosage of 8g/L really made a difference here.

I like Belize 2008 , as well as his stronger brother from the Rum Shark Club bottling. It's very drinkable, the slight sweetening and thinning helped it quite a bit in both smell and taste. Thanks to this you won't be under the influence so quickly and you will be able to have more shots than you expected 🤣

Good sipper with nice candied fruits caramel and vanilla. Hint of cacao and wood at the end.
