One taster who sipped it beside an Enmore called this the more approachable of the two — lighter on its feet where the Enmore goes heavy and dark. The wood leads (a sharp, almost acidic oak), then tropical fruit and a vegetal, licorice-and-anise coolness push through with air. Oily texture, faint tar and leather, a long balanced finish. More complex than it first lets on.

#4923 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, wood, faint smoke, light leather, light vegetal, plum, faint citrus, faint anise. Palate Oily, fresh, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, anise, medium spicy, light citrus, faint tar, faint grass, prunes. Finish Long, balanced, oily, wood, light roasted, raisin, plum, faint leather, faint licorice, light spicy. Also a lovely release and you should give it a try if you get the chance.

A rum tasted at Whisky Live in Paris in 2024. A lively nose with a sharp, acidic woodiness. The wood is also dominant on the palate, but if you wait a little tropical fruit and a vegetal side develop to give balance. The finish is long and woody, and the fruit only reappears in the empty glass. A more complex rum than it first appears.

Completely different from the Enmore . Tasted side by side. Enmore is heavy and dark, whereas uitvlugt is more affordable on the pallet. There's dry fruit like prunes, the woodiness is lighter and evolves towards liquorice, and I like the freshness it offers, vegetal, liquorice and aniseed.

Notes from Whisky Live Paris 2024 - to be reviewed and expanded upon. I liked the leather and fruit, with a very smooth, silky finish. Wood present without forcing, a very oily texture.

The nose is lively and full-bodied with leather, wood, ripe tropical fruit, herring, and exotic spices. The palate stays on the same aromas with a medium-sweet finish.
