Christmas 2024, Sobotovice In the nose you can smell Jamaica, even though it is Dominican, a bit of milk chocolate The taste is again gentle, honeyed, very smooth

Bottle Market Bremen October 2024. The next Rum Nation. This time Dominican Republic. Also fruity on the nose, and you can also detect nuts. On the palate then a nice, low sweetness in the form of burnt sugar and caramel. Quite okay.

#6868 30.05.2026 The wife went to bed and now I can enjoy a few more samples in an effort to reduce the huge stack I have. Listening to some tracks by Exminds, Jo Cartwright, Andain, Costa and Maria Naylar. A decent rum with a good price tag, that I think most can actually drink. The profile is lightly sweet with sugarcane, fruits, chocolate, light leather and some roasted wood.

👃 Roasting, caramel, butter, salty, honey, syrupy, burnt sugar, industrial sugar. Quite a complete but light fruitiness, dried fruits, tropical, citrus. A mix of chocolate, pepper and vanilla. 😋 The same markers as on the nose with a bit of new leather and a nice hazelnut note. ⛳ Short, light, on caramelized wood, burnt sugar and industrial caramel. A bit of vanilla, spices and jammy fruits. 💡 Good value for money for what's in the glass. Nothing transcendent but already much better than all the hyper-manipulated Hispanic rums.

12/05/2026: Advent calender: Le Monde des Rhums 2025. This is an easy, sweet, beginners rum from the Dominican Republic. Not my style, but OK I guess. The price is decent, but I wouldn't buy a full bottle.

Very soft rum. The caramel note combines well with the taste of fruit. A light nutty tone lingers. The spices come out well in the finish. A slight woody taste rounds it all off nicely.

Accessibility : easy. This is a very well crafted sweet rum. Excellent balance between spirit and notes, and a long taste for only 41%. For the easy drinking and low ABV, as well as reasonable price I'm not hesitate to give it an 8. Postscript: tastet a high Ester, high ABV after this and then returned, and it was still able to give a pleasant taste where others would have been tasteless and watery. This was still excellent sweetness and spicy notes.
