Un rhum plutôt agréable, la pomme domine tout le long de la dégustation. Un arrière goût de calvados est aussi à noté en bouche. Le bois reste assez doux et discret Très bien pour les amateurs de calvados

Un rhum qui s’inscrit dans la continuité de ce que propose Montebello. Le nez est doux et sensuel, caractérisé par un fruité sympathique qui tire légèrement sur l’alcool et une belle rondeur sur le bois et les épices douces. Le côté agricole ne ressort pas spécialement, ce qui n’est pas plus mal. On retrouve un rhum plus sec mais tout aussi équilibré en bouche. Si la canne à sucre fait irruption avec sa fraîcheur, ce sont surtout la pomme et le calvados qui tirent leur épingle du jeu pour donner quelque chose de nouveau. Les épices se diversifient (cannelle) et le bois s’imbrique bien au profil. On retrouve une forme de suavité plutôt agréable. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est de longueur correcte, un peu plus fermée mais les arômes de pomme, de calvados et des épices persistent, tout comme une touche d’agricole en trame de fond. Le profil est plutôt original pour un rhum de gamme permanente. Un bon rhum guadeloupéen de base sympathique et accessible à un prix correcte pour le terroir.

Old agricole rum aged 6 years, batch 2023, aged in bourbon and cognac barrels by cellar master D. Marsolle. On the nose, aromas of apple and caramel; on the palate, slightly spicy, rather soft and fragrant.

6 years, vintage 2023. Bought at the distillery in December 2024. Aromas of caramelized apples, a floral background on the nose. On the palate, it's rather woody, I find leather but not unpleasant. Average finish.
