Findlater & Mackie of Manchester Ltd. Finest Kosher Rum 1970s
Burnt caramel, roasted almonds and a dark, Demerara-leaning core run through this rare independent bottling from Findlater & Mackie. Several tasters got molasses, dried fruit and charred wood, with one calling it "a bit of demerara in the profile." Most found it interesting rather than great, and one reviewer flagged the color and sweetness as heavily tuned. Full-bodied, dark, medium finish.
- Roasted almonds, caramel
- Dark Demerara profile
- Rare bottling

How does Findlater & Mackie of Manchester Ltd. Finest Kosher Rum 1970s taste?
Aggregated from 13 community reviews.
Dark, burnt-caramel Demerara-style sipper Most landed around good-not-amazing: dark burnt-caramel and roasted-nut profile, navy-like and balanced on the palate, but a few felt the nose lacks complexity and the color and sweetness seem artificially tuned.

On the nose there is a lot of burnt caramel. Very dark and intense. Lacks complexity unfortunately. I like it more on the palate. Here we are in dark Demerara territory. Again, a very dark profile but much better balanced than the nose. Some dried fruits towards the finish.

Weird and Blind tasting @Artur: Another piece of history! Molasses and caramel clearly dominate. Nice sweetness, surprisingly complex, reminds me of a navy blend.
