Shocked that so many rum redditors find this forgettable. I love how it’s so different from the other Jamaican funk rums- this one goes in a wild Werther’s caramel direction. One of the more memorable rums I’ve ever had.

#6610 05.04.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while watching Airport Security on TV. This is a pretty good mixer, tried it in a cola, but it can also be enjoyed neat. The price tag is also pretty good. The nose is fresh with lots of sugarcaen, citrus, banana berries, light olive and a light earthy note. The palate is oily with raisin, sugarcane, pear, light coconut, spice, olive and light salt. The finish is long and medium spicy with sugarcane, citrus and grapes.

This rum doesn’t have a strong nose like you would expect from a Jamaican ovenproof rum. I get a bit of chocolate and tropical fruits amongst the alcohol notes. It doesn’t drink as hot as the 63%. This is a very flavorful cocktail rum.

This is the only Clarendon rum I can get. It's surprisingly good. It's got the trademark Jamaican funk, but that funk is more fruity than industrial. I drink this neat. I will rebuy.

Read full review →Problem is the Jamaican Overproof's it competes directly with are SO much better. It may be that in triple distilling this rum they have taken all the funk out of it. Maybe they wanted to produce something different to the usual Jamaican Overproof's. They've certainly done that. Just a shame...
