Yeah, this Beenleigh is pretty okay, the Ricci family usually isn't really my thing, but this one works. It's definitely quite fruity, you can recognize citrus fruits, coconut, and pear, but unfortunately it's very sharp-edged.

Notes taken at Rhum Fest 2024, quick notes and a somewhat heavy palate, sorry :) Here we have: a beautiful Beenleigh, old, maybe a bit tame. A rum: slightly woody, very fruity! With a hint of coconut. Finish: maybe lacking a bit of length to end in a fireworks display. A friend ordered the bottle, I might get the chance to taste it again..

♋ Cancer 2024 – 65.2% Here, no blend but a single cask: Beenleigh 2007 (Australia), aged 17 years in a bourbon barrel. Very fruit-forward, with subtle wood notes. Pleasant and easy to drink, but I expected more depth and complexity for a 17-year-old Beenleigh.

15/03/25: tasted @ Brussels Rhum Festival. Probably the oldest Beenleigh i've tasted so far. Not bad, but nothing special either. I expected a bit more. I always get the same pear note on Beenleigh rums.
