Got a sample of this rum from Mauritius as a gift from Rhum Attitude. This edition from Gold of Mauritius at ABV 48% is a blend from several molasses produced rums and because of the higher ABV there is more pronounced tasting notes and aromas compared to other tasted rums from this brand. The nose is rich, nutty, fruity and rather intense with scents walnuts, prunes and bananas. At the palate and during the medium long finish the scents coming back as flavors together with almonds and oak, but it’s also rather creamy and dry especially during the finish.

Nose strong woody spice, behind that vanilla caramel; tongue similar, slightly sweet, strong, medium-long finish, but not my style.

Caramel, banana and chocolate on the nose and on the tongue, reminds me of chocolate foam bananas with a slightly woody note in the finish.

Der Bananengeschmack und die Süße (mind 15 Gramm) überlagern alle anderen Eindrücke. Selbst im Abgang lange lange Süße und Banane. Nicht komplex. Süss. Aber mit 48%. Kann man machen wenn man auf wenig Komplexität und Banane steht. Für mich ein ausreichend.
