Most tasters land in the same happy place — a fresh, fruity red-cane blanc that drinks well for its 59%, even if a couple wanted a bit more going on. Ripe mango, orange and lime lead, with fresh sugarcane running underneath and a green, herbal edge. The alcohol is mostly well tucked in, though one or two found it hotter than the label suggests. Long, dry, slightly salty finish.

This Longueteau rum from the Esperance distillery is a celebration of the companionship between the the distillery and La Maison de l’Hédonisme that distributes Longueteau in France. The rum is made of 100% Red Cane from plot No 6. It’s distilled in 2023 and bottled in 1440 bottles 8 months later in 2024 after resting in stainless steel vats. The nose is rather powerful, round, fresh and fruity with scents of sugarcane, fennel, citrus, lime, orange and salt. At the palate it’s tangy, creamy, oily, very round and a little bitter with flavors of orange and lemon. The finish is long, dry, salty and oily.

#6370 Relaxing with some samples after a long day, first at work and then chasing down the phone my friends son forgot on the bus. A medium intense and well balanced rum. Fruits and grassy notes mix pretty well and tehre is some ginger in there as well as some medicinal notes.

Back to it after the WLP! On the nose we're at Longeteau, cane and citrus. However, it burns quite strongly, seems more like 62% than 59%. The cane lingers well, a warm vegetal side, but nothing else. I'm a bit left wanting.

From the nose, through the mouth and the finish, this anniversary cuvée with Maison de L'hédonisme is a success! From the P6 (so monovarietal red cane), this rum is very fruity. The notes are on tropical fruits and especially the mango which stands out well. The 59° are present on the attack but very well incorporated with the very soft sugar cane full of sugar and the tropical fruits. Terrible with lemon soda!

Comforting on the nose, pleasant on the palate. A good white rum to savor that pleased me as much as the neophyte tasting with me. Candied fruit nose (prunes), rather warm. Smooth, very, very round attack. Alcohol very well integrated. First the prune, then a livelier taste, the vanilla comes through with a little green from the cane. Light finish, but the alcohol warms for a long time.
