8,4:On the nose, the first impression we get is very fresh with grapes, apples, then smoky wood notes join with caramel, bacon, meaty notes and an almond, as a molasses brings tobacco and thyme. On aeration dried apricots, peaches and pear arise, the wood is charred with nuts, cream toffee. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is very pleasant, sweet, creamy with charred wood and smoky notes like caramel, bacon, cream toffee, nuts, spicy with black pepper, molasses brings pepperoni, tobacco and tea.The fruits are dried with raisins, apricots, later banana, pear and apple join in and really make the rum delicious, as coconut appears at last. 8,2:The finish is long, dry and a bit tannic, mild, still pleasant, but less balanced due to tannins. Notes are similar as on the palate..

surprising and atypical smoky, bacony Panama rum, similar to the 2008 CDI 11y. very dry.

Enjoyed this, particularly more because it came at the end of what was a long-ish day. Sweet, bourbon notes with a fair bit of oak. I am new to Panama rums, this one made me reach out again.

Panama 2008 Transcontinental Rum Line (La Maison du Whisky) Bottled: 2018 52.8% Batch of 5 Casks 38% Aged in Continental Weather Column Still Molasses Rum Color: Gold Smell: Fresh, sweet and fruity like apple and grape spritzer. Also aromas of coconut, caramel and brittle. Taste: Initially sweet in the mouth, then spicy with caramel. When swallowing spicy with toffee, tobacco and licorice. Also some raisins. Finish: Spicy, dry and woody with some toffee. Strange slightly bitter aftertaste. Conclusion: Good Panama rum - somewhat better than the Compagnie des Indes I tried before

This one really blends everything in to be an extremely bland and boring species of Panama. There is much to not really get exiting, but this seems to actively try to be uninteresting. seriously, who needs this? There are cheaper options in better...
