Once again a unique exotic from RDL, which is difficult to evaluate as there are no comparisons. The rum is extremely powerful and young. The sherry cask is hardly noticeable, if at all in the finish. Otherwise, the strong, present savanna molasses note is there, slightly musty. The alcohol is brutal and takes away the lightness of the rum, otherwise I would have given it a higher rating.

8,1:On the nose, the first impression we get is very strong with medicinal notes like esters, glue, solvents, overripe tropical fruits and olive, brine. On aeration, roasted wood notes like caramel, nuts and pastry, arise, slightly spicy, citrus fruits with orange and berries with strawberry, perhaps some melon.Even rotten, pungent feeling joins interplay with yoghurt note. The molasses is flowery and grassy. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is intense, pungent with rotten, overripe tropical fruits and strawberry, esters, glue and rubber, then olive and wood spice, slightly astringent. After really resting the rum, the notes balance themselves, slightly smoky wood with confectionery pairs tasty fruit notes like peaches, berries and citrus and grassy, flowery and herbaceous molasses, a bit mineral. 7,9:The finish is medium long with medicinal tones and rotten fruits, vegetal and grassy molasses, smoky, burnt and spicy wood...

#4776 11.07. 2024 Relaxing evening with some nice liquids 😊 Nose Intense, fresh, light wood, fruits, light rubber, light glue, berries. Palate Intense, light wood, faint smoke, fruits, berries, light glue, faint rubber, balanced, faint peach. Finish Long, medium spicy, wood, light roasted, fruits, light peach. The empty glass has light chocolate, faint cobacco and caramel notes. Needs a good while in the glass to settle and release all its wonderful flavours.

Initially very restrained on the nose, but after a little time it opens up at least a little. Nevertheless (especially in comparison to the 2001 TDL tasted at the same time) still very restrained. On the palate, it's the expected plank from this series. While the first sip is mainly furry and alcoholic, there's a big... nothing? You can taste Savanna, but it has the intensity of HERR, Lontan and co, nor the balance of the more relaxed representatives. Expectations were high for the combination of Savanna and Wild Series, but unfortunately (based on the first impression) we have a rum that tries to be exciting with a high alcohol content.

Mmhh not bad. Glue, wood and clear varnish or a wood stain or something, quite fruity, slightly vanilla, a little rubber. Not bad, but not really mine either. Quite round in taste, but also quite raw. Not quite my cup of tea.

Hei in the nose, as if you have just laid a new carpet in the apartment (the wife says "air mattress"): Solvent, rubber, but also dark fruits and raisins. The taste is then astringent, slightly furry with a really well-integrated ABV. Slight rosehip note and again rubber and solvent. Long finish. Extremely unusual. Little to compare with. I'm confused, well made, but not my preference

I'll say experimental, but definitely interesting. But one sample is enough for me. Ester, rosehip, fruity, a little dirty, some mint. Alcohol is very present, needs its time in the glass.

It bites like a mountain lion! Sooo many esthers! Rumy z destilerie Savanna jsou jedny z mych nejoblibenejsich. Doporucuji kazdemu vyzkouset zejmena vuce esterove kousky jako je Grand arome nebo HERR. Tolik ovoce v nekolika malo kapkach tekutiny jste dlouho necitili

Rums from Savanna (and Rom de Luxe of course) are a safe bet. This one is very estery or technical, the taste is dry and woody with a very long finish. The strength of 71,2 can catch you off guard :).

Just an amazing piece of art here for only 2 years of maturation The nose is very fruity with meat, ester, rubber The palate: very fruity, estery, rubber with hints rotten meat and burnt wood Finish is long and warm with fruit, ester and malt Feels very heavy, intensive and concentrated I really like this one

Intense technical smell (glue). The body is only thing worthy of this rum - it is intense with rubber and glue flavour. Start is mild and there is almost no aftertaste. Yeah, it is young rum. They could probably leave it in barrel for 2 or 3 more years. This rum had potential to be loved by rum geeks.
