Bois d’Inde is one of the three rivers crossing the Plantation. The two others have also a Rhum named after them. Info from TR state that the plantations geographic location gives their Rhums a special character and rich flavors. The sugar cane grows in clay soils and their roots bathe in sea water. This is said giving a high sugar content and a remarkable diverse flavor profile. It’s a blend of eleven great vintages including the very rare 1979. It’s very smooth, subtle, rich, complex and elegant Rhum with a rather long finish. It will not disappoint anyone that likes Agricole.

Well, it basically brings everything you’d expect. The low alcohol makes it more of an easy sipper. I don’t find it insanely complex and the finish a bit too short.

8,5:On the nose, sugarcane with honeycomb, flowery grassy, sweet, roasted oak with praline, cocoa, nuts, vanilla, caramel, red fruits with cherry, citrus, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, it becomes peppery, anise is out, the cane is mineral, herbaceous, fresh with tea, yellow fruits arise, some leather. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is mild, elegant with sweet sugar cane, candied, slightly fermented, herbaceous, flowery, mineral, later minty, grassy, roasted wood with cocoa, caramel, roasted nuts, spicy with anise, allspice, vanilla, pepper and tons of fruits:yellow, citrus, green, currants, pineapple, grapes. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry, tannic, with earthy sugarcane, mineral, grassy, flowery, vegetal, pairing roasted oak, spicy, nutty and red fruits, banana, raisins.

Insanely beautiful, complex fruity sweet spicy and elegant sipping Agricole. Must definitely not hide from barrel strengths despite the 42%. I like it extremely well and I would not have expected!

Heute mal als Einstieg in ein kunterbuntes Tasting genommen und sehr positiv überrascht worden! Die abv schreckten mich etwas ab, aber ich muss sagen, dass er dennoch vollmundig und komplex ist. Leckerer Agricole!

Lack, schöne Würze, Zuckerrohr, Keksteig, etwas getrocknete Banane. Im Mund und im Abgang sehr pfeffrig. Insgesamt sehr ausgewogen, angenehme Stärke, staubtrocken. Typisches Trois Rivieres-Profil, gut trinkbar. Den kürzlich ausgetrunkenen Triple find ich aber besser/interessanter/kräftiger.

Great Agricole, very tasty. Nice Agricole-typical nose, mostly woody and spicy, but also slightly nutty. On the palate also lots of wood and spice, especially (black) pepper and cinnamon, but also a slight sweetness.

Comparative tasting with St Pierre from old notes. I seem to have preferred the latter for its more pronounced fruitiness and better-integrated woodiness. These are two fine cuvées, gourmet and well-balanced.

Fruity Floral. Pleasant nose and sweetness. Tastes good. But personally too monotonous and not really special. Also find it a bit too watery (although that's nitpicking at a high level).

Ein sehr eleganter Agricole, der im ersten Moment auch als Cognac durchgehen könnte. Geschickt werden hier aromatisches Eichenholz mit ansprechenden Gewürznoten und einer üppigen Fruchtvariation, die von tropischem Obst hin zu Trauben sowie Kirschen und Äpfeln reicht, zu einem sehr leckeren Gesamtbild verknüpft. Leider erweist sich im Mund und auch vor allem im kurzen Abgang die Verdünnung als kleine Genussbremse, da dadurch der Rhum doch deutlich hinter seinen Möglichkeiten bleibt.

Color: Bright reddish brown Smell: Sweet like Mon Cherie - cocoa and red fruits (cherry). Predominantly fruity-woody aromas. Taste: Mild in the mouth, slightly watery and sweet. Spicy-sharp when swallowing with a light fruit note. Pleasant woodiness with caramel and pepper aromas. Finish: Medium length. Spicy, peppery, dry and somewhat watery. 84 points

Compared with Bois d Inde. I didn't have a chance to put them against Oman. I put Pierre on the same level as Bois although I like Pierre just a tiny speck of sand more than Boise. Pierre is more fresh, floral and fruity (especially with my favourite apples). Bois is more sweet and darker in nose and taste.

Really nice and elegant one. I had the Oman then the Saint-Pierre, this one ends the triptic. Slightly “less amazing” ( but amazing is already such a trip). The color is mesmerizing !

Obviously missed it when I see the other notes and commentaries. For me was ok but not very interesting, lacking in character and uniqueness, and frankly borderline bland - but still drinkable. Will try again at a later point
