Beautiful Grand Arôme molasses. Dark, intense with great spice.

A rum from Martinique bottled in the 1950s. Thanks Artur for the sample. The nose develops great softness, a bit like a Demerara but less sweet and with a vegetal, herbal side that gives it vigor. On the palate, little complexity, the sweetness of molasses and vegetal and agricultural notes like on the nose. Surprisingly, despite its simplicity, this rum is rather long. Complexity develops in the finish and the agricultural notes, menthol and a certain acidity flourish while keeping a nice softness. A very nice finish!

#7321 17.09.2026 Running a few more samples while listening to Daily Mix 05 on Spotify. Another way back when rum that was really cheap when released. Medium to intense profile with molasses, roasted wood, smoke, mint, leather, tobacco, natural sweetness, tannins, chocolate, fruits, herbs and a dry palate.
