Manutea Tahiti 50

Members keep landing on the same word: licorice — big, black, "brutally intense" licorice you don't see coming from the fresh, grassy nose. This is a pot-still cane-juice blanc from Tahiti, so expect green sugarcane, a floral lift and a peppery, oily body at 50%. Neat it runs a touch hot and sharp-edged; several tasters say it really comes alive in a daiquiri, where the anise note still leads.

The community says
  • Bold black licorice
  • Fresh grassy nose
  • But: Sharp-edged neat

Grassy Tahitian blanc with huge black licorice An unusual, love-the-licorice curiosity most drinkers enjoy — grassy and full-bodied — though a few find it too sharp and boozy to sip neat.

Licorice sticks in liquid and brutally intense! how is that possible?!! personally, I'm not a fan of licorice at all, but it's kind of crazy😅 in the daiquiri, the licorice note also remains brutally dominant, but is flattered by light vanilla and coconut/banana and bitter orange notes. Cool and very unusual stuff 😅🕺

A very fresh, grassy rum with a serious black licorice kick. I happen to love black licorice so this rum scratches an itch for me. Not the most refined as a sipper, although I’m good with it, but would make a fun daiquiri.

Shockingly licorice flavor. Based on the smell I wasn’t expecting much but the taste blew me away and made me jump in the air for joy. I felt like the Doom Slayer ripping my way through hell. In sort, a good run. :)
