Caramel, vanilla and coconut sit on a soft, syrupy body that most tasters found a touch too sweet. There's some young wood and burnt sugar underneath, but not much depth beyond the ex-bourbon cask. This is a very nice sipper from Bacardi. Not at all pretentious but just an excellent rum. The average age of the rum released today is 12 years, slightly under what ir was when first released.

6,8:On the nose, the first impression we get is light with roasted wood notes as burnt sugar, caramel, nougat, spicy with vanilla, clove, cinnamon and fruity with an apple, a coconut. 7,3:On the palate, the attack is quite tasty, sweet with roasted wood notes as caramel, honey, cola and spices as allspice, perhaps cinnamon. It comes out a bit alcoholic, from the fruits, there are raisins, bananas, coconuts. 6,9:The finish is long, soft and syrupy, sweet with caramel, fruits like apples, some spices and burnt wood....

Tasting of Artur's Puerto Rico rums. A faint nose of yellow fruit, sweetness and neutral alcohol. On the palate, first yellow fruit, then caramel, burnt caramel and wood. The finish is short, with apple and burnt caramel. These Bacardi Premiums are definitely not worth their high price tag. Yet the best of the series.

Puerto Rico Set Nr. 15: Pretty nice in the nose with yellow fruits and more depth than the 8y from the set. On the palate significantly less sweetness versus the 8y, while still more in the sweet side overall. This benefits the profil, as more fruits, some coconut and woody notes shine trough. Cheers to Artur for curating this set!

Rum No. 15 Unfortunately a bit too sweet, with barrel and vanilla. Many thanks Artur for this mega-split journey through rums from Puerto Rico. Thanks also for the work you always take on for us and make old bottles possible for us! 😊

Artur's Puerto Rico tasting, thanks for the great overview and history :-) Now three older Bacardis in comparison. Also on the rather sweet and thin side. At least not as extreme as some others, still rather skip.

Unfortunately overall way too sweet. But more aromatically exciting than the 8 "Ocho" with the typical tobacco and burnt caramel notes that I often associate with Puerto Rico and Cuba. The sweetness annoys me a lot here.

The liquid History of Puerto Rico Tasting No. 15 - young wood, vanilla; sweeter than its predecessor, a bit of hazelnut schnapps which makes it seem artificial. Alcohol barely noticeable. Just not a good Spiced Rum.
