Precious Liquors Foursquare Bottled for VERSUS 2006

Foursquare fans who wish the distillery pushed drier and more serious will find their bottle here. Toasted oak, coconut, caramel and vanilla lead, but the palate stays dry with dried apricot, raisin and a fine bitterness that lingers into the finish. At 58% the alcohol reads well integrated. Several tasters admit they'd never have guessed Foursquare blind — that's the draw.

Foursquare? Really ? That's really unexpected. Nose is fruity, no coco/chocolate, I do like it Mouth : It s bitter, not round as the usual foursquare, vegetal, mots of orange peel, Christmas punch, gingerbread, green apple. Blind I'd have go for Beenleigh crossing a Pyrat rum (for the super strong orange flavour)

8,6:On the nose, toasted oak, slightly smoky with burnt sugar, caramel, vanilla, rather moist, fresh, some tobacco, dried apricots, raisins, citrus fruits, coconut, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the molasses is sweet with honey, flowery, various roasted notes join like nuts, chocolate, pastry, spicy ginger, medicinal touch. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is fruity with jack fruit, coconut, dried apricots and orange, later some other tropical fruits and raisins, sweet with toasted wood notes like caramel, gingerbread, pastry, chocolate, spicy vanilla, a bit smoky, barrel impact is strong, as quickly tannins arise. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, medicinal with rubber, fruity with citrus, dried fruits and coconut, the wood is roasted, smoky, spicy with allspice, ginger.

This one opened up quite easily with the typical Foursquare notes. On the nose: Light woody notes, light roasted notes. Coconut, vanilla and caramel as the main notes also some nice milk chocolate notes here and there. Balanced in a way that you can expect from Foursquare rums. Taste: Coconut, vanilla, caramel as main notes. Dried fruits. Then you get some woody notes and spices. Balanced Finish: Woody, roasted, some light peppery notes and light citrus notes. Finish is mildly bitter after fruity and sweet taste. This is good "mid-range Foursquare" that lacks of power and intensity in order to receive higher score.
